So Nixon seems to think he's Stoke bound too (if they get Kane though?) If we got to October and could pick any 2 from Fletcher, Delap, Surridge, Campbell and Brown? Getting Delap would surely have to make this the best Stoke transfer window in years and years, as if it wasn't already!
MON is building a bloody good looking squad here after clearing out so much deadwood, it's unreal.
Been a long time since a transfer window has felt 'successful'. Still areas that we need people in for, but compared to the past few seasons, this is night and day.

Why, is that what your "sources" are telling you? Never once used the word “sources”

Anyone who thinks fletcher (good for 20 games)Brown (very hit and miss) Surridge (could be decent) and Campbell (still out injured, unknown return date, plus getting up to speed) is enough for a system playing 2 up front is enough is sipping on the cup of hopium. When all fit then we have healthy competition, but when we get to mid November and fletcher is out for 4 weeks, brown is going through his mid season wobble and it's left to Surridge and a returning Campbell, having another option seems to be a bloody good idea. If we can get Delap in through the door, then we will have had an immense transfer window. Having another right sided player would be the icing on the cake, but that is just being greedy.

No, he’s not going Anderlecht This. If he goes on loan it’s to us Man City will want him nearby, I can't see him going there.

We do also have Powell, who may often go in there to play the Surridge role with Vracinic and Sawyers looking for his spot, as well as Norton, who needs a chance to shine if he doesn’t get a loan. In an ideal world, we do bring in another striker, but we are not just limited to the three you mention. This is also the Championship following 18 months of no income, it’s natural that some areas will be lighter on cover.

Delap will top off a brilliant window Think we’ll get him? Is there still interest in the lad from Scotland or is that for CM with Sawyers?

The thing is with Powell, his poorer games were when he was leading the line imo, I agree that we will have enough fire power to finish comfortably in the top half of the table, and the addition of a ball playing midfielder in Sawyers on paper looks a master stroke, but to get in to the top 6 I still think that the addition of a Delap or similar type of player would make it more realistic.

What I don't like is Man City pissing about. They have no intention of playing Delap in any league match this season whether they get Kane or not, so stop farting about and get it done!

Creating chances, playing good football on the front foot and a good start points wise this season will do us no harm at all in getting Delap in on loan

Wouldn't have thought Preston would have much of a chance? Although he would be an undisputed starter www.lancs.live/sport/football/transfer-news/preston-connor-wickham-transfers-pne-21371385One target, as reported by LancsLive just under a month ago, is Manchester City's young star Liam Delap. He has just extended his City contract until 2026 so his long-term future firmly lies at the Etihad, but the champions are yet to commit to allowing him out on loan this month. One factor at play must be their pursuit of Harry Kane, but PNE are still in regular contact with City and remain in the race for Delap - who is a target for many other Championship clubs. Stoke City, Bournemouth, Middlesbrough and West Brom have all been linked with the youngster.
