I’m gonna assume this ones gone now, our attacking options are already decent would much prefer another midfielder Why not both? McCann and Delap?

You're 100% as much as I am 👍 I like all the subterfuge on here re transfers as the board could never be accused of averting a coup transfer for the club as every rumour right and total rubbish make it. I’m pretty sure that’s why the sentinel print every mention of anybody. I’ll just add a bit is Monkey Bryn lol 😂

I am confident he is a different level, agreed. But at 18 cutting your teeth in the Championship will not be easy by any stretch. It's not U23 football or messing around in an academy. I suspect if we did get him he will do ok and no more. Ronaldo at 18 took a couple of seasons to really get going at Man Utd. That said I would love him to shove my words right down my throat and be an absolute sensation. It's not that long since strikers Delap's age were making their League breakthrough for big clubs at his age (i.e. teenagers) - off the top of my head eg Rooney, Owen, Whiteside, Hughes. The difference these days is that in their quest to be competitive, wealthy clubs like City regularly buy in ready-made, experienced strikers in their mid 20's from all over the world, so reducing the opportunities for youngsters, no matter how good. Take Phil Foden, for example - in July 2019, Guardiola said: "Phil is the most, most, most talented player I have ever seen in my career as a manager". Yet the following season, 2019/20, he only started 11 PL games, completing just 5 of them. As for Ronaldo, when he was 17 turning 18, he made 25 appearances for Sporting in the Portugese top flight and the following season played in 29 PL games, 40 in total, for Man U. If Delap is as good as everyone says he is, I see no good reason why he shouldn't be good enough to play regular games in the Championship for a decent, competitive team. Stoke should do whatever it takes to get him (imo), even if only for a half-season loan until Campbell is fully back.
There were also players sent out on loan years ago too Defoe, Kane Beckham and more

I think he's already committed to Ireland www.transfermarkt.co.uk/liam-delap/profil/spieler/610849He's already played for England at every youth level below u21, so think the only way he'd consider Ireland now is if his career didn't map out to be as top-level as it appears to be heading. And, to be fair, he is English. Born here, lived here all his life, mum English and dad born here. Declan Rice cam through all the levels with Ireland. Can't blame him for jumping ship though. I doubt his parents etc would make much of a difference, Rory played for ireland. He's already been approached by the FAI but nothing to report on that front. I remember being 'meh' when harry Kane changed his mind last minute about playing for Ireland. That worked out just as I expected

fair one, ffp must be catching up with us soon though [/b] I don't know. If the fans who consume every bit of rumour and gossip, and any bit of Stoke stuff on social media, have trouble keeping up with things happening at the club, I think we might be giving the FFP Invigilators, or whatever they are, a fair run for their money.

Probably for a different thread but it does seem like it's one rule for the well established & another for the smaller clubs 🤔🙄

Guessing this was written that it’s either McCan perm or Garner loan. Then Liam is still on the cards. Still no sign or murmurs of RWB, maybe we ain’t looking/no one ideal?
