This summer is already looking a bit bizarre. Other clubs managers confirming our business on Sky Sports News and the CEO taking (either by design or genuine mistake) swipes at the players we are bringing in from the level below, "hoping they make the step up". We're a very strange club all of a sudden. Or Stoke are doing the gentlemenly thing as he’s still technically a Wigan player Depends how you want to dress it mate Yeah, absolutely see your point. It just feels weird Wez. Just weird. The interview with the CEO last week was very odd also.

Wigan manager Paul Cook virtually confirmed Powell has signed for Stoke live on ssn just "It does look like he's decided" isn't quite "he's definitely signed" is it? He probably has, but until the old photo wearing the shirt is out (don't seem to hold scarves anymore) I'll wait with baited breath

Some great praise there especially off the former chairman 👍 To be fair though mate, he's not really going to click 'like' for the ones calling him a traitorous cockwomble

Sorry but no idea how it works as never used it The link that FM provided shows what his account (@npowell25) has 'liked', which you do by clicking the small heart emoticon under the tweet. You can search for 'Nick Powell' or his user handle and from there you can see where people have used those terms which will give a broader reflection of what people are saying about him. To be honest though he does, generally, seem to get a pretty positive response from Wigan fans about his time there

Football fans gracefully accept a member of their staff moving to a bigger club.
Take note, Luton fans 👍

Keeping players fit always worries me at stoke. I know for a fact that we slashed the amount of physios at stoke after relegation. Then this summer we have reduced them again to basically about 4 from 12. Those remaining havent been offered any more money but expected to do more.
Surely the fitness of players is right up there. Why are we so badly organised, prioritized and tin pot?

I don't know how the number compares to other clubs in the championship but it wouldn't surprise me to see clubs with fewer.

It is, but I would have thought fitness, no matter what league you're in is important. One thing I wouldn't scrimp on is physios. With a personalised balanced fitness programme designed for each player which is what they concentrate on with sports nutritionalists and sports scientists there should not be as many injuries. Prevention is more the key than physio work. There are always going to be injuries but with techniques such as cryotherapy and hydrotherapy to support players the number physio's is only based on what is required.

I think Powell is going to be a fantastic signing and will be a brilliant player for us this season. Anyone who has worked closely with him rave about his quality. Playing him in his best position with two strikers ahead of him and plenty of grafters behind should give him the freedom to dictate things. All being well he will provide us with that true quality we missed in the final third last season and is someone who will win games for us this season.
