How do we think this one will pan out?
Personally I think he's a good player, and as Jones pointed out yesterday, his system suits his energy, and I thought he did well yesterday considering he's had so little football.
Good battle between him and Tom Edwards for that spot, but will he want to stay here if he's not first choice? I'm sure there will be takers for him.

If we can sell him for a decent price I think we'd be better off doing just that and reusing the money on a cheaper alternative. |

He could of been played as a left back this season, would of been a better option than Shoehorning a cb in to it. For some reason he isn’t liked so he will be off in the summer

I don't go in for too much mollycoddling or sentimentality over players but this chap has received real shoddy treatment from us.
Played from the off as the wing back he was purchased as and I'm sure it'd be a different picture.
He was our brightest spark under Lambert, treated like shit by the prick Rowett.
He's better off gone, owes us nowt.
Disappointing episode which reflects badly on us..
We don't know what we're doing.

It’s a hard one this,great going forward but switches off throughout the game can that be coached out of his game or is it too late ? Thought he played ok yesterday.

Bauer was a major part of our best result of the season (beating Leeds) Why he hasn't played more is a mystery and clearly not a successful strategy.
Any team that could afford to ignore a player as good as Bauer should have coasted this league. The mismanagement of resources this season has been scandalous at every level.

For some reason he isn’t liked so he will be off in the summer That would have been a disaster, he can't defend, as a wing back using his pace he has some sort usefulness but never as an out and out defender. Either way I think he'll be gone due to his stupid contract. |

Awful as a winger, just doesn't have the technical ability, best part of his game is the overlapping, but his defending is crap. Is going to be behind Edwards, rightly, whatever happens,

Loses concentration 5 or 6 times a game, positional sense poor and as for being a winger, his crossing is poor. Flattered to deceive first few games after he signed as at least he had some energy compared with the mostly lazy wankers around him.

I was at the game....i like bauer and he should have been played more, but edwards is a greatly improved player and is definitely first choice for me |

Can't help but think NJ made his mind up about Bauer in those first 2 games he played him and Bauer was caught out of position for two identical goals.
Defensively he's very poor IMO, he reminds me of a headless chicken.
Just another name on an ever-growing list of failed signings made by Stoke City, and still nobody is held accountable.

Edwards and Bauer are ideal for Jones system, we've got 2 decent young athletic right backs. Jones has enough on his plate trying to sort the other areas of the team in the summer for his diamond formation.

It is at least enjoyable to watch someone who believes bombing forward still has a role in the game as oppose to rather tedious passing around in your own half !

More of a middle distance runner than a footballer. I Don't mind him as a backup, but if someone will take him off the wage bill I imagine we will sell.
