Prior to this game - Since Nathan Jones' first Championship match in charge, Stoke have had the fewest shots (132), shots on target (35) and scored the fewest goals (11) in the entire division.

I'm willing to suggest highest shots against per game, very low points per game acquired, very low squad morale, very low quality shown, lowest #of sub contributions per game (sub scores, assists, plays well, subs change game), least late goals, early goals etc etc

This is on him today.
We've been abysmal for the last 6 or 7 especially infont of goal. Every press conference he's acts bemused why we put in the performances we do. Continues with the same lineup next game. Repeat.
Nothings changed since Rowett. The jury is definitely out for me.

Have you got the clean sheets and goals against stats as well?
(I think someone put them on the other thread?)

Throw all the stats you wan't at it. The fact of the matter is this isn't his team, it isn't his style of play due to the players at his disposal and we WILL look different next year.
Just get to the end of the season and go again. This is going to take time and patience.
Enjoy the sunshine lads.

Exactly the same problem as rowett.
He can see the problem, clear as day.
As for doing something about it ( his job) , no idea
Either both of them are hopeless coaches
Or
An atmosphere has been created at Stoke, where by failure is seemingly rewarded. Everyone signs on big contracts, the players, coaches, Scholes, carto etc. Everyone is paid loads of money regardless of performance and all of them live in some alternative universe whereby tons of money just constantly falls into your bank account, regardless of anything at all to do with how the team performs on the pitch. Which would make it very difficult to motivate anyone to do anything.

The damage was inflicted much earlier.

Ah the good old Ostrich approach again as it was with Hughes, kick the can down the road until next season jam tomorrow FFS he is paid to manage what he has at his disposal and get results, if you think he will be allowed to rebuild an entire first team next season you are in denial.

I bet Nath wishes he'd stayed put at Luton. Tougher job than he expected with this team of money grabbing shitesters Norwich and Sheffield will take us to the cleaners, and we'll witness TWO promotions

That will be the beloved Diamond that has taken Luton to the brink of promotion with 81 goals scored. In league 1 and 2 which are massively inferior to the championship. Luton are too good for League 1, hence their promotion. Honestly, I get it, everyone is so f*cking fruratrated with the entire situation. The club has gone from making us proud week in week out with battling free flowing performances to disappointment after disappointment. It's so difficult to see the bigger picture when all we have been is let down. But NJ is the answer. He is installing a philosophy at the club which will be special if he is given the chance (which I believe he will be). In hindsight you could say we should have come out in Jan and said this season is to learn about the club and see where the areas of improvement are. Manage the expectations, much like Graham Potter at Swansea. However after the expenditure over the summer plus attempting to motivate our players this would have been suicide. This will take time. We are safe, NJ now knows where the issues are with the club and the players and will have his list of targets drawn up ready to implement his play over the summer. Collins, Verlinden, Baath, Vokes et al will be the future and I'm excited. Just have some patience and try (as hard as it is at the moment, and I understand) not to throw the toys out.

Did you see the Norwich message board at the start of this season by any chance ? Now Jones may not be up to it...but he deserves the chance to give it a go building his own side in his own image. You know , just like Farke at Norwich. Hypothetically , would you not tolerate 6 months of dross if ( and its a big if I know ) we could end up something like he had at Luton ?
