Sorry Sal I just couldn't wait for you to start the thread. * if you were there. 0 from me, does anyone know what we were supposed to be doing? What system? What formation? What the fuck? What I do know is that we were fucking wank! Gouranga.

Oi Tatlock I'm feeling more generous than you and agreeing with Terry more - what I'm still pondering is was that an aberration, was NJ really so massively outthought by GP - or more worryingly, were we seeing the limits of the Jones gameplan tonight? Honestly not sure. Can't go higher than 3.5 tho tbh

1. He turned up for the game on time. Literally everything else he got wrong though. Extremely worrying. This isn't the first time he's had a big stench of out of his depth about him.

I can’t really see why he didn’t try to change things around a bit very early on. It was so patently obvious we were struggling dreadfully. It will be an interesting post match interview - hopefully he tells it like it was.

3, the set up didn't work at all, Clucas should be nowhere near the midfield let alone as a number 10.

1* The point is for Collins The first half was as bad as anything I have witnessed live under Rowett and Lambert
It's a shame in a way that McLean scored when he did because Jones should have realized we were getting torn apart by James in particular on the right and changed things up at the interval.

Spot on- it’s worrying that he couldn’t see it. We have a player who might prove to be similar to their winger in Verlinden but Jones prefers the mundane effort of Clucas?

He is going to be a very good manager but part of that learning is from nights like tonight the finest managers of our history have all suffered abject defeats indeed so have the finest of all history , the question is what lessons were learned , what actions initiated . Jones will know the latter the question is will the people in executive responsibility enable the right response or hide behind another manager
Slaughtering Jones is utterly pointless if it makes people feel better aim it at Scholes who oversaw the creation of the mess we see tonight jones is part of the solution not the cause

Utter negative horsespunk.
We were playing a side in midtable like ourselves. I was more impressed that we conceded less with 9 on the field.

Can someone who interviews Jones ask him why he dropped Bojan? We have nothing to lose and losing playing well is better than that shite. Was Jones setting team up not to lose?
Bojan was instrumental vs Blackburn, surely he wasn’t dropped because of the penno miss? Cos Clucas, Fobe and Vokes have all missed pennos and they played tonight.
Make your fookin mind up - play Bojan, stop fanning around with him, it’s clearly affecting the way the team is playing - this in and out flip-floppery is bollocks

1 For putting a team sheet in. That was as bad a day at the office a manager can have. His starting xi wreaked of negativity and parking the bus. It handed the initiative to Swansea from the kick off. I never ever want to see Clucas as a no 10 ( we know you love him Nath but he will never be a no 10). Nor do I want to see Afobe playing out right ever again. Jones's game management was as if he was asleep. It was predictable that James v Edwards would be a major tactic for them and Jones did nothing to stop Edwards getting rinsed. His 2nd yellow was absolutely inevitable. This performance doesn't make him a bad manager but it's a reminder that he has a lot to learn and needs to do it quickly

Clucas is never a number 10, I would like Nige to ask Nath what possessed him to pick him there

Jones still very much in a honeymoon period.
But he genuinely seems to be seeing things in Clucas that nobody else is. I listened to another interview pre-match when it was all "top player" and "top guy", "top this" and "top that". Still waiting for anything to justify it, and the selection in that role today was a head-scratcher to put it mildly
And Afobe on the wing was just batshit, bananas, crazy. He's offering so little in any position that I'm close to writing him off for next season.
To be fair, so is Vokes but there's possible mitigation with fitness so best to hold fire there.
Still very much in his camp, but concerned that he's throwing away what is essentially half a season with no pressure and going needlessly conservative in his selections.
I'll give him 2 for blooding Collins.

Clucas at no10, then as deep midfielder in diamond, then left back? Williams? Afobe wide?

It looked like a performance from a lost dressing room to me There's no way you can say that after the last few weeks, and the way they battled with 9. They're very much on board. Sadly a lot of them are shit
