Pretty fun watch, although just like Bohemian Rhapsody they've altered the timeline quite a lot (although this is much more altered than BR) so purists might not enjoy it for that reason

Not seen yet ,and not convinced I want to. I liked Crue from quite early on and saw them at Donington in 84 and then their first headliner at Dominion theatre the same year. Saw them on and off until early 90s and while I didn’t dislike the Corabi album, they were pretty much irrelevant to me from then on, I loathe the reunion money spinning tours to be honest. Read the book when it came out, and was entertaining enough rock n roll debauchery, but a screen version prospect kind of leaves me cold. Noticed Nikki back-pedalling furiously recently on one of his sex anecdotes in book in light of the metoo movement . So jury’s out on if I watch or not. Good point on the accuracy thing, cos that irritates the hell out of me, diminished the Queen film having songs jarringly out of period etc. Glad you enjoyed though

It breaks the fourth wall quite a bit and is more of an appreciation of Motley Crue rather than a moment for moment recreation of events, so I think in that sense it works quite well and sort of goes hand in hand with the dreamlike state and "what the fuck happened last night?" moments they had almost all the time

I had a lot of respect for Nikki as a songwriter and seemingly the guy that glued them together for the most part. His “heroin diaries “ or similar title book was a better book to me. I suspect I’ll watch this by chance at some point. I always resented Vince Neil for the Razzle car crash, cos Hanoi were a better band than Crue and that killed them stone dead IMO. You reminded me, at one of their most drug addled peaks, we had managed to get front row tix for them at Wembley arena and they cancelled, allegedly due to “too much snow in England making the venues unsafe” and we had to get ref7nds, and when they finally came back we got bloody row 125 or something. They were bloody good live on occasion. Good thread, thanks

Made it a third of the way through and then punted...kept trying to figure out who was playing Mick (then figured it out). I'd have rather seen a doc like they did with the Eagles, Tom Petty, etc.

I'm looking forward to this film, probably get a free month off Netflix 😁
Saw the Crue in 1989 at the NEC. Seen more supposedly technical bands like Megadeth but for me, they were the best I've ever seen live😁😁

Is Ok I guess. Thought Bohemian Rhapsody was atrocious personally- like one of those US TV Movies. Ideal Oscar subject matter though rather than quality which seems to be the norm these days

I might have nodded off for a bit but to me it seemed to jump pretty much past girls, girls, girls with barely a mention. I was also at the NEC thought I recognised you was talking to my brother and trying to remember the support we thought it was White Lion and Skid Row in the end but could be wrong.

The name always reminds me of that Oatcake picture back in the late 90s? where the picture of the group and the talented local football team who play football the right way were put against the wrong names.
It must have got to them because they retaliated with a picture of the Brit and the incinerator with waymarked signs saying "burning rubbish" and "playing rubbish" which I thought was quite good coming from a town with little sense of humour

Still no sign of a dvd release?? 😕 Netflix films and TV shows rarely ever get a DVD release, it would detract from their subscriptions
