Didn't do a lot. Not a bad player but has no vision for a midfielder.

Thought he was utter gash myself. Thank you. Apparently he’s Zinedine Zidane 😂😂😂 No-one has said that 🤣 but at least he was trying and remembering to pass to a member of his own team 😉 this is progress. Baby steps but progress nonetheless. I literally could not stand him this time last month but I can appreciate the effort he has made over the last few weeks and he’s been asked to play in numerous positions and it can’t have been easy. We just conna be slagging people off week after week when we’ve won and they haven’t really done anything wrong!

Definitely improved since the second half at Wigan, but still a way to go. Does seem to be playing with a bit more agression and desire though.

If you thought Clucas was poor today your mind was made up walking to the turnstiles Along with Etebo, Allen and Edwards he was excellent In actual fact he’s been one of our better performers in the last 4 games Starting to have a look of Dean Whitehead about him .Never popular on here but always put in a shift.

It might be the same at all clubs, but the amount of posters on here who have a view on a player and then just stick with it despite what happens on the pitch is staggering. Ryan, Joe etc., all get stick at times which is totally unjustified. Maybe it’s just a social media thing with people having a platform to be negative, and sometimes vitriolic . Regarding Clucas, I think he has been pretty disappointing overall, but the last two games in particular he has played well

He’ll be excellent this season Tbh I was reading the Mb after matches last season wondering if they’d been up the same match as me, some minds were made up on his performance walking to the stadium not after it

I'm also keen to see how he develops once he's been given a specific role in a Jones team. He looks to have grown in confidence and has looked (from reports) really sharp during preseason, which is great. I've never liked his histrionics though, and never will.

He shouldn't have done it, but I dare say he felt there were good reasons for doing it. There weren't, but I think people need to move on from it. I think Jones will want to accommodate him in the team whenever he can. If the squad stays as it is (with Allen and Etebo staying), I have a sneaky feeling he may end up as our left back more often than not.

He played left back at Wigan and was excellent It was badly timed to shush but lest we forget a certain Ryan Shawcross also doing it a few years ago

I think the ones who give the players pelters are the same people who take most offence when they get something back.

His left footedness in a midfield position may well be useful too.

I think he'll be good this season but I also think he seems like a bit of prick. It's not the shushing its the constant whinging when he's playing! I expect to see regular tantrums!

Jones describes him as 'Fine player' not 'Wonderful'. I think Jones has got this right and is a decent squad player and that's about his level. 6m for a squad player can be added to the list of poor business we have conducted in the last 2 years.

Certainly a tremendous player to have around the squad, a favourite amongst his colleagues and Nathan and his team.

Is it only me who doesn't understand why supporters take umbrage over players doing the shush thing? What's the beef? Was he shushing the Stoke fans?If so,so what. Not like he's given the crowd the finger is it?
Anyway: he definitely had some stinkers last season and definitely had some good games too. More of the latter please.
Re fitness: at Tranmere it was abundantly clear that all the players looked very fit. Shawcross for example looked trim and much more mobile than he has for years. Afobe, who I can't abide, has lost weight and looked really sharp fitness wise. E.t.c.

He has a nack of arriving in the box late and picking up a few goals. You’d completely lose that, and I don’t think we can afford to really. I’d much prefer him at leftback.

Utility players always tend to get stick because they're jack of all trades master of none. Useful squad member but hard to see where he would fit in the first eleven as it stands. He got better last season but that was from a car crash of a start.
