Just as the current roadworks are finishing and the smart motorway is going to be open with 4 lanes, junction improvements have been announced which will start within 12 months. A bit of motorway I dont tend to use as normally I'm on/off at 18 or 21, but it's going to be 2 flyovers across the M6 so unless they built the supports during these recent works, it's here we go again for a years worth It is needed thought to keep the traffic from backing down the sliproads highwaysengland.co.uk/projects/m6-junction-19/

They should do summat about these twat faced lorry drivers that seem to think that it is OK to be just a few feet behind you at 50 thru the roadworks. I had one yesterday that close all I could see was his grill. Absolute wankers. ( Not all lorry drivers BTW, but the ones that try to intimidate you by tailgating)

I'm sure Royal Mail have a workshop for HGV drivers inculcating the values of driving like c*nts. Knights of the road my arse.

HGV's and white van man have been a bloody nightmare on that stretch from J16 to J19. There's been countless occasions when we've come down the entry slip and been unable to actually join due to the volume. You then get a HGV or white van man behind start to blow their horn, you creep forward and a HGV flashes to let you in - big mistake ! You then find yourself on the inside lane, directly behind an HGV doing 53mph, with the HGV who flashed you now about two feet from you rear bumper, and the middle lane is chock full of HGV's and white van man all doing 55-56. It can be fairly intimidating and frightening particularly when the HGV in front suddenly jams the brakes on.
When we've had early fights from Manchester for our holidays we ended up avoiding the motorway and driving through Knutsford instead.
We've also recently had road works on a fairly busy road near to us for the past 9 months or so which has caused all sorts of disruptions and queues. Only last week all the cones, temporary traffic lights, barriers, etc etc finally removed - bliss at long last, the traffic flow was back to normal and no queues. Driving down the same stretch today I saw a sign advising of upcoming roadworks due to work by the water company - scheduled to last for 10 weeks ! Why the hell can't they co-ordinate the work to coincide with any other roadworks ?
