It's not worked out too badly for our old mucker.
The BBC are saying this makes him the highest paid British player of all time
I'm loathe to say he needed a break.

Don't think he'll enjoy an extended stay in Italy too much. They still allow proper tackling and physical play over there.

I agree. How many hard-working Stokies' annual wages equal ONE top-level (not necessarily GOOD) footballer per week? Makes me a bit sick really. Mbappe gives 27K to the Sala fund (not knocking him).....what have the others done? Why are our local kids having it so hard when the game is awash with cash? (Rant over).

He was broken but through the miracle of science and the puke filled loving of the national media, a bang average player has come through the darkness and into the gold tinted light. However, through it all, he is still a gooner cunt, and that hatred will last longer than his ridiculous weekly earnings.

It's hard to apprehend that someone at Juve has actually sat down and thought i've identified just the man to continue that lineage of fine midfielders which includes the likes of Nedved and Pirlo;ladies and gentleman I give you Aaron Ramsey....

Ridiculous really.
He'd have never have got that money had a transfer fee been involved though. Juventus look at the deal as a whole and must of though £80m+ was decent value.

All predicated on the fact that they didn't have to pay a fee. Ramsey is probably a £40m player in todays market + £200k p/w wages (£10m p/a), signs a 4 year contract and total cost is £80m (£40m written off over 4 years as he can go for free at end + 4 * £10m). No fee and pay him £400k p/w (£20m p/a) over 4 years and the cost is the same.
Its no wonder footballers run down their contracts really and can't really argue he hasn't been good value for Arsenal when they paid £6m or something for him 10 years ago.

Ramsey of two years ago was one of the best players in the league, he hasn’t done much in recent years though. Still a superb player but never worth that, I guess you have to consider there is no transfer fee though so overall it’s not so bad for Juve.

If Ramsey is getting £400k a week, how much is Ronaldo on? Or Mandzukic, Dybala, Can, etc?
It also raises the question of why established top English players are so loathe to move to other top European leagues while the two best Welsh players are not.
