Anyone whose not a regular NFL fan going to have a look at it? Can go with either BBC1 or SkySports Mix (free to air on 121).Hoping to see the LA Rams pull off a win. Nowt against the Patriots but always good to see a new winner.

My Dad might.
I'm out in LA so pretty excited, but it's absolutely pissing it down. Last few years were patio weather.

The Saints were robbed - I frankly could not care less now. I don't like either team but I probably dislike the Pat's more.

If I cared about american football I'd have been so pissed about that botched pass interference no call. That was a bad fuckup. With the Patriots though, it's like they get a different set of rules.

Couldn't give a single flying fuck about fat blokes in body armour playing 'Stoppy Starty Hand Egg', I'm just waiting to see what Marvel trailers are out and what Apex Legends is going to look like.

Now I’m semi-retired I can stay up without worrying about Monday morning👻. Watched the highlights of the semi-finals today and it has really whetted my appetite. Got the beer in, missus has gone to bed and am now settling down with TV in HD and sports mode😎.
As far as I have an adopted team, it has to be the Patriots. I’m wearing a T-shirt with their logo after a trip to Boston a few years ago, plus I feel more affinity with New England than LA. Although the analogies with Man Utd tends to hit a sour note. Not sure it’s accurate - more a 70s Leeds, perhaps?

Bit of a drab defensive game, with both QBs compromised, especially Goff. Both teams have worked out their defence strategies like Pulis on crack. I think the combination of Brady and Edelman will sneak it for The Patriots.

Jeez.
The NFL is as boring as watching Stoke.
Patriots v Saints would have been a much better game.

Chiefs v Saints would have been a really open and attacking Superbowl. However we got the well drilled Brady/Belichick Pats against a stunted Rams offense. Deserved win for Pats.

I enjoyed it, but then I love a really tough, hard fought defensive game where every point is valuable. (It is one reason why I think football is better than rugby and why basketball (pass, pass, score, pass, pass, score ad-infinitum) leaves me cold.) My favourite current player is Julian Edelman (a small bloke (for NFL), with a fearless and aggressive approach) so it was great to see him get MVP, but it probably should have gone to the entire Patriots defence for shutting down the free-scoring Rams so completely. I am also a big fan of Bill Belichick. I love his grumpy, grouchy, monosyllabic persona, his (lack of) dress sense and his uncomfortableness with the press. (He reminds me a lot of Bob Paisley in that both always appeared as though they would rather be on the training ground than anywhere else as well as both being incredibly successful) I started following the NFL from when Channel 4 started showing it and was hooked after watching John Riggins pounding Miami into the dirt in the highlights of Superbowl XVII (I was also a big fan of their coverage of Sumo Wrestling as well ) Once they started with regular coverage I decided that as sport is much more involving when you have a team to support I needed to pick a team. I automatically discounted any team that had won a Superbowl to that point (no gloryhunter me) so that eliminated the Packers, Dolphins, 49ers, Redskins etc. I also discounted the teams that seemed to be perenially rubbish (I am not stupid enough to support the American equivalent of Port Vale), so that were the Buccs, Bills and Lions out. I ended up with a shortlist of the Broncos, Browns, Vikings, Eagles and Patriots. The brilliantly named (and British born) John Smith was kicker for the Pats (and sometime presenter on Channel 4), so on that basis, I picked the Pats. For the next 15 years or so the Pats were a bit like Stoke, a bit more or less average each year winning games they shouldn't and losing games they should have won. I was also one of that small band of UK NFL fans who didn't enjoy Superbowl XX one bit! However, as a Stoke fan, I have found the last 20 years of supporting the Patriots a bit surreal. I can't get my head around a team that always seems to be able to find a way to win rather than a way to lose. I have a good mate who is a Vikings fan and we love a good argument about all things NFL related. In fact the only thing we were in agreement about last September was that the Patriots did not have the quality to win the Superbowl this year. We both thought the Pats would struggle to around 9-7 or 10-6 and lose to the first decent team they met in the play-offs. I still can't quite work out how a team with not a particulalry great O or D line, no really top defensive backs (except maybe Stephon Gilmore), a decent but not outstanding set of running backs, Gronk apparently held together with lots of sticky back plastic and tape and, other than Edelman, a fairly ordinary set of receivers managed to beat the Chargers, the Chiefs and now the Rams who on paper all had far more attacking (and defensive) weapons.

A mixture of starting drinking at 2.30 and a piss poor game got to me... IMHO Dallas Cowboys are the Man Utd of the NFL.
