Dave, do you know if there is any foundation in this rumour about ex Arsenal man coming who possibly worked with Steve Bould? No idea.

He’s on his way out of League 1 without our help so I don’t see why he’d relegate us No he's not. Portsmouth are going up and Sunderland will move in the 2nd automatic spot when they avoid defeat in their game in hand. He'll have a punchers chance in the play-offs. It's a laughable appointment if we make it. A semi-literate, born again, God botherer from League's 3 and 4, taking on a club who spent the last 10 years in the Premier League. If we do hire him I can't see any happy end to it. Well we’ve done it now and I’m very happy about it. How can you judge him to manage poorly when he’s never failed at Luton? Semi-literate? Lmfao. He speaks two languages mate do your research 😂

You have to feel this wasn't a Coates Snr driven appointment?.. Maybe John is the main man now?. Any confirmation of press conference when he will be introduced? Will he be in the dug out Saturday?. Out of interest, has Peter been at any games recently? Looks like the succession planning has been taking place and John has taken the reigns as of this season. Not trying to speculate but hoping it's not been because of any health reasons. Pete has been at most games this season including the last home game. He has been very quiet though and suspect you are right about succession planning.

Let's all pray his footballing brand is far less reminiscent then.

What an incredibly impressive character.
Even if he had to follow Fat Sam & Moyes into the boardroom interview that would have blown them both out of the water. I can see exactly what Coates Snr & Jnr saw in him.
Hopefully, he can walk the walk now.
But for my money, if we, as a club and especially the players, can't get behind this guy and give ourselves one hell of new manager bounce, we really do want shagging.
Edit:
I'd also back him to take no crap whatsoever from the backroom already here. Hopefully, he's just the catalyst we need to shake things right up. I agree - a very impressive interview. Probably the best first public interview of any of our managers for a very long time. He's clearly "driven" and very enthusiastic - and being articulate he manages to get his points over very well. After watching that, I suspect most of our players will be feeling happier than they have done for some time. Very early days - but so far, so good. Have only one criticism to make of that interview. I'm a buzzin, buzzin, buzzin and as a result, probably won't be able to get a decent night's sleep! Rock solid, credible, from the heart interview!

Very excited by this and the long term vision of the club/playing style. Lets now back him and get 2 or 3 players in this window. his win rate has been phenomenal over his period at Luton, however it will need to be around 63% until the end of the season if we are to get play offs. 40 points needed to match last seasons 6th place. A huge ask and if he gets anywhere close then its been a success. Good luck and lets get behind him. 40 points needed? Well if he gets 30, we'll get the rest for him, because if we are on our game it's worth 10 points when it's a bear pit.

If we do hire him I can't see any happy end to it. I am not the first to say this Gods - but how do you come to the conclusion that he is "semi-literate?" He might not be up to the standard of a Professor of English at a major university, but he strikes me as one of the most literate managers we have had at Stoke for many many years. On the face of it he will be one of the most literate (and certainly one of the most articulate) managers in the league. One thing you often notice about British managers and players is that they often seem less literate than many of their foreign colleagues but that doesn't seem to be the case here. He's a breath of fresh air in terms of literacy - I think you are less than fair with your comments. You've surprised me.

I’ve just watched his interview on YouTube with stoke city.
I’m curious with this fellow, I’ll support him as always he’s our manager.
But he’s adamant about the style and how he wants his team to play. I hope he lives up to the hype and delivers what he says. He says as much to be fair. Very ambitious, very.
Proof will be in the pudding..... it’s his lifestyle and will work tirelessly!

He comes across really well just by reading his interview! I was very wary about this appointment with it having a great element of risk but he doesn't come across as a chancer like rowett he's genuine and he works religiously on his philosophy on the training ground which is awesome to hear especially after the shit we've all been through the past couple of seasons I'm glad we've gone with a manager that plays an attacking brand of football and we've moved away from the dinosaurs of the football world credit to the owners too for moving swiftly after sacking rowett I'm excited about this and can't wait for Brentford.
Quick question will jonesy be in the dugout Saturday?? 🤔

A gamble, but a more informed and intelligent one. Deffo preferable to the usual crop of meat'n'taters journeymen & hoofers. I was hoping that they'd reach out to try & find a decent foreign coach - but if they did approach Jokanovic and he declined and interview then fair enough - this guy speaks Spanish apparently so at least he'll be able to talk to Bojan !! Can't wait for Brentford - and the Leeds game should be awesome if he can get a bounce out of them..... He's Welsh. How much more foreign do you want?

Well, I was unaware of who he was when I first heard. However, I will keep my counsel until I’ve watched a few games and seen the players play to his game plan. He seems a passionate bloke as far as football is concerned and hopefully he can translate his philosophy to the team. I think if he is going for that diamond formation he needs to get some pace and forward passing into the box and with 2 upfront, we could start to see some good football. Fingers crossed it really works for us as we’ve had the backwards and sideways passing for far too long now. I’d like to hear that famous Stoke roar back at the Bet365 and get the hairs standing up on the back of my neck.
