So for me today was big question day: has Rowett got the chops to take us to the next level? Today's answer: a resounding no. Sorry Gaz but there it is. You hire a manager to think the game better than 11 individuals would - ugly, pretty, don;t care, it's about basic quality. I saw no evidence today that Gary came near managing anything of the kind. Things can always get better, be lovely if they did... I've given him a lot of evidence of the doubt but for all his undoubted strengths, the lack of calibre is just blinding atm unfortunately. Utterly mediocre.
it has to be around a 2 - when we changed attackers I at least thought he's given them time to do something, but the result was the same - slow and pedestrian attack - too predictable - no pace - players not closing Brum down quickly like they were to us. I've said it before - we haven't got enough shots or goals in us. Leeds got two late goals to win, and Norwich too came back at the death. These teams have goals in them, and we just don't.
If Homer Simpson has been in charge of that team I’m sure the outcome would not have been any worse. The set pieces, urgency, composure, tactics, strategy, substitutes, energy and encouragement from sidelines and fans value for money were all a total embarrassment to everyone connected with SCFC. A deserved 1/10 from me.

We seemed to be getting the better of a poor game. Ince has a shot well saved, they go up the other end and score. I’d thought Gary would rocket them at HT, make a positive change. Didn’t happen, then he takes our fulcrum Woods off and enter Crouch; meaning a long ball game against a aide that would have been beat with quality football. The game died a long painful death as Gary surrendered any advantage by going dinosaur.
Rowett himself living or dying by the sword a usual big fat 0. Time to go. He's no worse than a caretaker manager. We'd have the same no tactics anyways and save money long term and possibly see Bojan or Bauer get out of jail and actually contribute instead of showing us what we are missing each week.
Rowett doesn't have a defensive unit he can rely on. When we win it's because opponents do not take advantage of the numerous defensive fuck-ups, when we draw it's because they don't take enough advantage of our defensive fuck-ups and when we lose it's because they do take advantage.
We went on a ten run game without losing because he basically sacrificed a forward thinking player to cover the back end of the park. It was always going to come undone eventually and we were always going to lose our shit when it did.
I'm not going to give him zero as it's not entirely fair on him. I would give the recruitment team zero for putting us in the mess in the first place.
I will only rate Rowett at the end of the season (because he will be here then) as I honestly think he's fighting for a top six spot. But barring some inspired transfers over the next month, it's going to be ugly.
