They should bring back replays up to, but not including, the final. Additionally, the semi-finals should be held outside of London and particularly outside of Wembley. The two finalists should each be awarded the Champions' League spots that are currently given to the third and fourth placed teams.
That would be much better.

I agree about the runners-up but the winners definitely should get a Champions League slot in preference to the 4th place team.

I'd like to see a rule introduced that any club two divisions or more below its opponent in the pyramid chooses whether the tie is home or away.

Bring back unlimited replays, it was miles better. Also bring back replays on the Weds after the Saturday not ten days later. Huge squads these days, don't see why not. Some of the best games ever have been replays.

No coincidence that the fifth round is played around the time of the next round of Champions League matches. It's a change merely to placate the big clubs who would prefer not to be playing too many games in February. Sod any lower league club who make it that far and would have looked forward to a chance of 2 paydays. The top clubs have big enough squads to cope with replays. Do the clubs actually vote to agree these changes? If so why vote yes?

Unfortunately you are (correctly) talking about entertaining the fans who attend, extra gate money for small clubs, and reward for endeavour, but the game in now in the hands of the big club owners who are only interested in protecting their investment and maximising TV revenue that "big club matches" generate.

Re champions league totally unfair, when a team is knocked out, they go straight into the Europa League That happens to the 3rd placed teams in the group stages but not the 4th placed teams. I agree it is daft though and unfair to the teams already in the Europa League.

Wonder if FA will compensate lower league teams who would have earned a replay at say Old Trafford or any of the PL clubs. Many lower league clubs see the FA cup as a possible lifeline for existence. This is another decision that smacks of thick brown envelopes again from from the righteous and mighty of the PL. It's a shit decision and should be challenged.

I think it's a decent enough decision. Overall it would be better to give clubs the choice of a replay, both can agree to not have one for example.
Not many lower league clubs make the 5th round anyway, Premier League clubs don't need the replays and neither do Championship ones.

I think the FA need to ensure that strong sides are put out by all if no replays are the order of the day. 8,9,10 changes is ripping off the fans IMHO.
The team Puel picked last night was a sack-able offence for me.

Not many lower league clubs make the 5th round anyway, Premier League clubs don't need the replays and neither do Championship ones. But a few do Jon and quite rightly see it as a lifeline from replay and TV coverage revenue. Isn’t this partly what the FA Cup is all about? Ask Exeter who have played Man Utd a couple of times this century. I am really surprised there has been no reaction from the lower league clubs tbh. Your idea of giving the clubs a choice would not work because it would need both clubs in agreement and that would never happen if a PL team was involved. As I said earlier, for this to be remotely fair then a compensation scheme must be available for lower league teams in the 5th round if the score is level after the 1st game or the revenue loss would be astronomical for a small club earning a replay at Old Trafford. I’m very surprised there is such little opposition to it on here as well.
