I'm amazed that I haven't seen a thread on this (maybe I missed it) but today is a very significant day.
As you all know Ryan Shawcross enters the top 10 all time appearances in the 155 year history of our great club. An astonishing achievement.
I'm not interested in whether he is as good as he was or deserves to start etc etc.
Just wanted to express my gratitude to him for all he has done and continues to do. So proud he is our player.
I hope we all give him the recognition he deserves today. Capped off with 3 points.
Legend.

Congratulations Ryan, when you look at the company he keeps in that list, it really is incredible in this modern era. Anybody under 50 will only have seen Dennis Smith, Peter Fox, Alan Dodd and Jackie Marsh from the list, under 40 and its Ryan alone, doff of cap, he’s city till he dies!!

Not only has he been a superb footballer for the club he has also been a superb role model and ambassador for the club. A thoroughly likeable person is Ryan.

For a while I really thought we might have seen the last of him in a Stoke shirt. The way he's taken a good long look at himself, reshaped his game to his remaining strengths and fought his way back into the side and the captaincy is brilliant.

Top player and one of the best Central Defenders we have had. Up and down in form since his back troubles, but a brilliant captain and role model
Could have played for bigger clubs also, but turned down one or two offers may be.
But stayed and fought for our great club and gave us some of the best times in living memory
Could of also fecked off pre-season to a prem club, but once again stayed and has fought hard to get his place back in the team when dropped.
Whatever happens from here on in - he is officially a Stoke legend

Unless he didn't play often from 73-76?
