Shader at Underground were very good but also slightly frustrating, great sound, good and loud but not massive stage presence and choice of songs a bit odd,to me omitted a couple of their absolute best songs and then for an encore did a bit of Oasis and one they'd played earlier on . That said, I look forward to seeing them again , shame crowd wasn't bigger last night , Hanley really is quiet of an evening isn't it. Not lived there for about 30 years clearly How many people do you think were at the gig?

Oneohtrix Point Never @ the new century tonight was one of the best things I've ever seen. Absolutely sensational gig. Amazing music and visuals.

The gigs in Stoke are extremely poorly attended. Its obvious why groups dont come here much.Apathy has well and truly cemented itself into the Stoke mindset.

In Coventry not original line up just the drummer at age of 82, the bass the guitar and singer for me did the songs justice, brilliant …

Post gig beer after Johnny Marr at Wolves. Gaz Coombes was superb as support.
Johnny is never a lead vocalist in a millions years and he would accept that but he carries it off because he's such a great musician and he's as cool as fuck.
Great version of Electronic's Get The Message.

Rialto - Brilliant! I can't think of anyone else who sounds like their dark but shiny Britpop. Doing their first gigs in over 20 years and my first time seeing them. Three new songs which all sounded great, two of them very danceable. Support band Wax-Tree-Cast were good too, ending with a 9-minute rock n roll wigout.
Feeder - Loud and very good but the guitars didn't sound quite as great as usual on anything apart from Insomnia. One thing I love about Feeder is they always play a fair whack of their newest album and new track Hey You was a highlight (sounding the most 80s I think Feeder have sounded). Another good support band with Girlband! starting with a long atmospheric instrumental opening.

I managed to get a last minute ticket and enjoyed pretty much everything including the new tracks, and I'm not familiar with his solo work outside of Fat Pop and the Stanley Road album. Support band Barbara were very good too, and it's the first time a band has asked me for a selfie with them. ??? It was because I'm a big fan of Paul Steel who is producing their album. I wished I'd worn my Paul Steel shirt.

English Teacher at Soup in Manc for an album release show.
Don't think I've been less arsed about going to a gig than tonight, especially as it's a Monday gig, but glad I went. Intimate gig meant no drums but I think I preferred it that way. Good guitarist and singers got a great voice.

I'm at the (AO) Arena for Girls Aloud next month and I'll don't think I'll bother with a beer in all honesty. Piss take.

Went to see Fuck Around and Find Out, Bismuth and Sunrot last night at Mabgate Bleach in Leeds. Was a proper 'underground' venue to find, even with directions - tucked away in the basement of an old mill in an unfashionable area on the fringes of the city centre - took me about 30 minutes of wandering around to spot the entrance. Insane levels of noise in a small venue - the whole crowd had ear defenders in for Bismuth and Sunrot. All bands good but Sunrot (from New Jersey I think) were superb - a kind of sludgecore, extreme metal, gothic mix. Hats off to the guy who works in our local post office for organising it all. Oh, and large tinnies of cider were £4, or £5 for a pint - none of yer Manc prices this side of the Pennines

Genuinely awful. Like listening to Radio 1's answer to Hard rock.

The early stuff is brilliant but for some reason they have decided to reinvent themselves for the Radio 1 market I think I expected something really metal'y and heavy, but they were just very plasticky. Their whole set was clearly played to a backing track, which isn't really my thing. It was more like a performance piece than a gig. Like going to see a pre-recorded show.

Cardinal Black - Live Rooms, Chester.
Last night touring their first album. I only know a couple of songs, not heard much by them but wanted to see Chris Buck live.
Best guitarist in Britain, outrageously talented. The whole band were excellent. Crowd eating out of the palm of their hands.
Great venue if a little chaotic on opening.
Highly recommend Cardinal Black and will go out of my way to see them again.

Just back from Birmingham after seeing fuzz-drenched neo-psyche shoegaze types TVAM and glacial post-punk synth abusers The KVB.
Not been to The Castle & Falcon before but it's quite a nice little venue - it's a bit like The Glebe but with a decent sized performance room out the back.
Shame it's in a part* of Birmingham that makes Tunstall look like the Côte d'Azur.
*Actually, most of Birmingham makes Tunstall look like the Côte d'Azur come to think of it.
