Williams was incredible tonight.
Simply immense.
He’s getting better game by game after a very poor start

Williams was outstanding. I've criticised him a lot and the decision to sign him but that was a fantastic performance.

I couldn't find a link tonight, but my boys said Williams was immense. Credit when credit is due.

I've always said he can read the game well. Just thought he didn't have the legs any more. He's no long term solution but I'll give credit where it's due.

What can i say? Top professional and a Stoke Legend - maybe not the player he was a few years ago, but still gives this club 110% on the pitch and a great ambassador for us off it too.

I bloody love Ryan, I hope to see him climb the table of top appearances at Stoke. I doubt I'll see anyone in my lifetime achieve all that he has with the club, leading us into Europe, an FA cup final, a return to the top flight after a couple of decades away. I suspect I won't see anyone notch the number of appearances he has and in that light I'll look forward to watching the remaining years he gives us.

He was dropped due to a few poor performances, quite rightly. The claims that he is finished / past it and in general scapegoat comments are utter drivel. Seems like some people have created an agenda for some bizarre reason.

Ahh the old agenda comment, never gets tiresome. Maybe just maybe people have realised that when he's played over the last 18 months he has been poor apart from the odd exception. You don't need an agenda to say a player needs replacing, regardless how long they have been at the club. Only a blind fan boy would suggest otherwise and they're even worse than the people you describe. He's slow, easily turned and positionally not that great. Add to that his only ability on the ball is to punt it up top to nobody. Don't get me wrong he's been a great servant but if this club wants to move forward then he is one of a few that need replacing.

Fair comments, I’d add that he still has the cliched ‘footballing brain’ and deserves to be spoken about in positive terminology purely based on respect for his service/best years at Stoke. Club Legend, we don’t have better currently but does need replacing sooner than later

By that I mean at the slightest mistake he seems to get slaughted, this is was pisses me off. It doesn't take a genius to work out he's not the player he was. If he was he wouldn't be here. Also it doesn't take a genius to understand we will need to identify a long term replacement sooner rather than later. At the moment he's far from past it as he is currently proving on the pìtch.

I’d say about 10% players and 90% management (aka manglement). correction: more like 1% players, 99% manglement. Unfortunately for us and the players some of les incompetents are still there.

You can make those exact same points about Williams and BMI- however 2 out of 3 have to play.

Suits making the present and last manager play him. We are 8th in the Championship in goals against, which is not terrible. We are where are because we throw away leads too easily by conceding silly goals and miss too many chances.

Agree about conceding silly goals, which effects the midfield and forwards play. We desperately need at least one center half
