So firstly yes I'm a learner driver ;D I was just wondering how all you experienced lot take on said 3 lane roundabouts as from what my instructor as told me to do and what the rest of the driving nation do is completely different. So here's the way I've been taught: If going right use the right lane approaching the roundabout, then once on the roundabout fade into the middle lane, and when exit off into the left lane. If going straight on go into the left lane approaching, left lane whilst on and left lane going off. If going left, left approaching, left on left off. Is this the way ya'll do it

Depends on the exits positions but on a text book 4 exit equilateral roundabout that would be the best advice

quite often, 3 laned roundabouts have road markings on them to follow anyway. So you would naturally filter from right to middle to left when going right.

its like the offside rule, no one really knows,
but never stop, never look over your shoulder at what the ref's doing, just keep going

Hey Staff, must fuckers out there seem to to that, so your not on your own mate.
Hippapottermus, what you have been taught is correct, its just what as staff above and many others do is incorrect, therefore making it confusing for learners drivers.
Few exceptions to the rule is that, the left hand lane on approach might be a left only lane, therefore you'll need the middle lane for the road ahead.
Also, you the middle lane might be marked up to turn right aswell as the right hand lane, therefore as a learner driver you'll need the middle lane on approach to turn right at the roundabout.

What about when you have 2 lanes leading into a roundabout and 3 exits, if you want the second exit, where should you be?

The right hand lane, then move over to the inside lane before taking the 2nd exit, after indicating you want to go left.

Hey Sidders, yep mate seen that friggin mini, pissed me off coying me, also round at the Toyota garage too. Yep i also followed the bus round and the other mini is my also, would love to see the pic's you have.
Pedro, it all depends where the 2nd exit on the roundabout is. If its before or at 12oclock then the left hand lane unless road markings or traffic signs direct otherwise. If its after 12oclock then its the Right hand lane, again depending on roadmarkings or traffice signs on the approach.
Hope that answers you question?
