Much too fond of sheep to be vegans. Would oral sex in this context constitute the consumption of an animal based product 🤔😬 Only if you swallow

Now if Arriva had a nice juicy T bone steak on the back of its buses surrounded by chips and mushrooms that would get the saliva flowing.

Natwest a little slow in putting their vegan policy together.
NatWest worker told customer 'vegans should be punched'
www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-bristol-47257996
The woman said after the man told her "all vegans should be punched in the face" he explained it was because vegan activists had drawn pictures of animals and written messages such as "friends not food" in chalk on pavements near where he lived.
He felt "vegans were forcing their beliefs on to him", she added.
"He wasn't happy to be speaking to me at all, his tone was really unpleasant. Being vegan is a lifestyle choice, I shouldn't be penalised for it, especially by a big organisation. It's extremely unfair."

Mr Morrison said the activism was damaging to farmers' livelihoods. And that's the problem with climate change, governments bowing to the likes of the meat industry We all eat far to much meat, 70% of crops grown go to feed animals, if we just grew vegetables instead we'd cut out a lot of carbon and save water, it takes 1000 litres of water to poduce a litre of milk, and between 10000 and 20000 litres of water to procue a kilo of steak, ten times less to produce a kilo of wheat

You have to squeeze the liquid out so it is more like quorn, still not great stuff though As you advised above I'm making an effort to cut down on the meat. I can take Quorn, Quorn mince etc. But marinading, grilling, frying, baking, hiding etc I just can't get on with Tofu. Last time I tried it, not prepared by me, I would have preferred a mushroom or two instead. It was spongy, slimy and insipid. Nah.

You don't have to give meat up - just cut down a bit if you can, esp. red meat. The only time I've ever had tofu was in China - but as far as I can remember it was fairly nondescript & didn't inspire me to want any more. I had a pub lunch of Quorn in a white wine sauce a few years ago & it was heavenly... (at the place on the Xroads when you leave Bridgemere & turn right - as if en route to Dagfields). I could never be vegan b/c I couldn't do without eggs, milk or cheese..... I wholeheartedly admire anyone whose diet is vegan, as they've got a mountain of self-discipline that I could never equal.

To be fair, a LOT of vegan meals can be really, really tasty. All you need to do is follow the recipe.....then add some bacon. Job done!

I have had tofu curry's before and they're really quite nice. The texture isn't anything remotely resembling meat but then if that's what you're expecting, perhaps just eat meat? Meat alternatives is a misnomer.... judge these foods on their own merit, rather than the constant comparison to red meat. I still persevere with my weekly pescetarianism During the week, I essentially eat exclusively fish instead of meat and I tend to feel great. At the weekend, all bets are off. I hope long term there will be some health benefits from this, but I've also cut bacon and most red meats out of my diet altogether. Anything cured with nitrates needs going really and bacon is one of the worst. Can't beat a decent steak mind. As for the activism, I have no issues with vegans until they begin to affect peoples livelihoods by stopping them getting to work for example. Once again, they're not harming big corporations, they're harming guys on minimum wage trying to feed their families. For that, they can fuck off.

Why vegans feel the need to eat meat substitutes is a mystery to me there are lots of ethnic vegan dishes eaten throughout Asia , the Mediterranean, china, and North Africa.

Bon Pan in Hanley do a great tofu curry that's worth a hit. I was amazed how good it was. If the complaint is solely the texture, then you're looking at it all wrong, because it's the flavours that should matter.
