I can't recommend this enough- the lad who plays Freddie has him down to a tee. A fitting tribute to a great showman.

Thought this was on the subject of the making of the song which had an airing on BBC4 last night which I thoroughly enjoyed. I have memories of hearing it, I believe for the first time, on an SCFC coach heading down to London for a QPR match.

Absolutely loved it but A Star is Born is still my recent favourite. Both had Big Vern fighting off the tears unsuccessfully. 😢😢

I haven't seen the film yet, but I read this recently about John Deacon. linkRead that also. He was massively cut up about Freddie's death and had some big demons of his own to deal with. Bit of a shame that Brian and Roger have all but lost touch with him, but not for want of trying.

Absolutely loved it but A Star is Born is still my recent favourite. Both had Big Vern fighting off the tears unsuccessfully. 😢😢 We went to see A Star Is Born last night. The mrs enjoyed it. I thought it was boring predictable tripe, a waste of just over two hours of my life. I'm not sure I fancy this Bohemian Rhapsody film either. I loved Queen, but am happy to live with my memories of them rather than watch an interpretation or reinterpretation of their lives and the group's history. But perhaps that's just me!

Hopefully with Roger Taylor and Brian May being co producers and with their input it'll have the gravitas required.

Are there midgets with trays of coke or images of Tommy Lee waking up next a dolly with Fred batting one off in the corner. If not, I’m not interested. Rhapsody is just a $#!t take on StairwayXx

Saw it last night. Recommend people pay a fiver to see it at the cinema as the music sounds great on their sound system and plays a big part in the movies success for me.
Humour isn’t bad either
I think they should have made him a smaller set of teeth as they made him sound like he was talking through a bear trap
Would have preferred a more realistic version (warts and all) but, it was still a very good film and makes you want to go home and play queen albums all night on full blast
Would have liked it to be an hour longer as the bit where he found out he had aids was very much rushed through
Really enjoyed it none the less

It's OK, but they've taken a few too many liberties with it. Like having Brian May writing 'We Will Rock You' in 1980, rather than 1977. Did they think nobody would notice?

I was riding my Raleigh sprint up and down our street when my mates sister shouted that it was coming on top of the pops in 5 minutes 5 of us piled in his house as he was the closest house with colour tv 😁

Queen were never one of my favourites although Freddie was an excellent frontman. Bohemian Rhapsody is one of my least favourite pieces of music. A mismatch of music styles which I find annoying, accompanied by a set of pretentious lyrics - " Scaramouche, Scaramoche will you do the Fandango" etc What? I think they were trying to be a little bit too clever. I know that BH consistently tops polls when people vote for their favourite record/tune but I just cant stand it.

Absolutely loved it but A Star is Born is still my recent favourite. Both had Big Vern fighting off the tears unsuccessfully. 😢😢 I saw that, thought it was a great film. Both lady gaga and Bradley cooper were brilliant, fair play to Cooper as well for the singing lessons....not a bad voice at all.

Massive queen fan, and on the whole enjoyed the film. Few glaring errors though. Especially Freddie's announcement about him having AIDS...This was not before Live Aid. Also when they showed them in concert in USA playing Fat Bottomed Girls, this was portrayed as before Bo Rap, which is most certainly wrong.

I really enjoyed it, in fact I saw it twice. I know it has the errors, but I guess you can call it artistic licence to present the story in a commercial way. I love films about British pop culture like this, because we’ve got so many great stories on our little island. Finally, in this era of hip hop, rap, R n B hegemony, it was great to hear LOUD Rock n Roll presented to the masses. Rock on, pop kids 😄

I’d heard Malek was tipped for awards before seeing this and for most of the film I didn’t get it at all. The beginning was like watching an actor doing a Johnny Depp’s Willy Wonka impression with Austin Powers teeth in and it took me ages to see past that. I think I’d settled into it by the time he’d had his image change.
The onstage stuff is great though and I ended up quite liking the film, and Queen. Not sure about Malek’s awards and nominations though.

The errors were a bit irritating but as a narrative and film without focusing on exact dates etc.it was brilliant. They showed Queen at Wembley on NY EVE and kids were pissing themselves cos you can see me running into the stadium with me 80s blonde highlights and massive glasses yikes
