God, this news is so sad, I will always remember the Blackburn game as it was one that had everything, Crooks hat trick, referee got injured and the announcement went out for a qualified referee, Durban’s red & white army being sung continuously by the Boothen to the paddock. Then to round the game off was Geoff’s wonder goal from what looked like the halfway line, did he mean it or was it a fluke ? Now we will never know, Geoff wasn’t the most gifted footballer but he had a big heart and always tried his best and that is all that we could ask for, and so when I think of the most memorable game that I’ve seen I will always remember Geoff and his wonder goal and have a smile 😊

R.I.P Geoff condolences to family and friends. Like many above will always remember that long range goal against Blackburn, also a classy left footer.
Did he not post on the Oatcake regularly ?
A specific poster i thought was him always balanced and gave knowledge from a man who played and been in the game.

He was on Can't Pay We'll Take it Away a couple of years ago, he had some money problems. I don't think the bailiffs believed he was ill until he collapsed and they called an ambulance.
RIP

My dad was not a Stoke fan but used to take me in the 70s when i was at school hoping i would grow out of it which i never did. Geoff was his favourite Stokie Any member of the 78/79 squad is a hero to me. May 5th 1979 still my favourite day as a Stoke fan RIP Geoff
