What a fantastic decision that turned out to be Oh mate, I was going to start the exact same thread - was going to title it 'Wet Wet Wet'. Parked on Screwfix. Got out of car. Mmmmmm...what a pleasant evening. T-Shirt with a fleece all that's needed. Never been so drowned walking back. I made the point coming back that if we'd lost, it would have been an utterly depressing end to the day. But as we'd won, the four of us were just laughing and taking the piss out of each other, particularly my mate's not particularly rain-friendly suede shoes.

Showers were forecast but I was not expecting weather that would keep North Sea fishermen on dry land...

I'd say last night is the wettest I've ever been. Ever. no way ,blackpool away years ago ,it didn't rain it was just a giant wave came crashing over blackpool lol ,bought a giant brolly,it lasted 5 min then it got blown into the paddock ,kept seeing it popping up all over the ground ,even had to ring my socks out when i got back the car

Similar experience for me but with the mistake being a pair of Nike trainers that are more like a sock/slipper that a shoe and a hidden in the dark and glare a puddle the size of Westport lake. As I drove home every time I pressed on a pedal more water oozed out into the footwell which by the time I got home seemed to be wetter than outside

We were among those behind the goal who legged it to the side when we realised we'd need canoes to stay afloat if we stayed where we were. All adds to the glorious memories of those times now. Magic.

I wasn't at the Blackpool match but last night I was totally unprepared. I made the schoolboy error of wearing new blue jeans too, so that today I still have Smurf legs that have been indelibly dyed

Despite it being a nice balmy autumn evening I've been caught out before at Stoke ending up freezing my bollocks off so on my way out I picked up the thinnest coat I've got which happens to be a waterproof just as insurance against the cold. Oh how my lads smirked at their soft old man with his coat obsession as they sauntered out into the warm Stoke evening wearing only the thinnest hoodies. Fast forward 2 hours. Did I rip the piss out of their impressions of drowned rats? Too fucking right I did 🤣🤣🤣 Yours Mr Smug Bastard.

Hull away was another when we stormed out of the end behind the goal into the closed off paddock to the left
Police and stewards stood no chance trying to stop the flood ( see what I did there ) of fans

I just picked my trainers up and water is still pissing out of them.

Remember going to Gillingham the last time we were in the Championship and sitting in the open away end, it pissed it down for the whole match, the only shelter available was if you went into the bogs.
Miserable four hour journey home on the official coaches that was.
Had a waterproof coat on last night but made no difference, the rain was hitting the ground that hard it was bouncing up and coming under the coat.

Glad to hear waterproofs made no difference as mine were on the back seat of my car while I virtually swam up Glebe Street.

Thank god we won otherwise the walk back to the car in Fenton would have been miserable. I just picked my trainers up and water is still pissing out of them. I parked up in Fenton too - and then had a 2.5 hour drive back to Yorkshire. My jeans were so wet (and heavy) it made driving difficult. My shoes have been in the airing cupboard since I got in at 1 o'clock and are still wet inside. If Keith from Trentham reads this, we thought of you, mate, trudging back home along the canal.

I can confirm that Timberland waterproof jackets aren't!
Also, I am revaluating my opinion of the light rain seen sweeping across the pitch from the relative calm of the JSU (or whatever it is now). It looked a light shower during the second half.
