We'll be looking at a few months before we see him again then I'd assume if it's definitely a break? That's roughly how long Son Heung-Min was out of action for when he broke his arm for South Korea last summer. That wins trivia of the day award..........well done sir Thank you. I don't know what's worse, spending your time reading something trivial or actually having enough spare time in your life to reply it!

he’s no loss whatsoever, plenty of effort but adds nothing to our creativity or goal threat. The opposition are happy for him to be on the ball because he does nothing with it. Can’t beat a man and can’t deliver a cross. Can’t control the bloody thing in tight situations either. throw in his yellow cards every other game and he’s a complete liability. He’s 30 soon, had his 15 minutes of fame with Sunderland and has been mr average since. £6m and we’ve put him on a 4 year deal, seriously?

The obvious solution would be to opt for a system that doesn't require wingers, possibly with Ince in an advanced role when he's available?

Squad Update | James McClean has been ruled out of our UEFA Nations League opener with a wrist injury sustained in training. The midfielder will undergo surgery today. We wish James a speedy recovery.

I dont think going from a terrible winger to a player out of position will have too much of an impact on this shitstorm of a start to the season tbh.

If your team rams in 41 crosses and you create nothing, then it's hardly a big deal is it?

England won the World Cup without wingers so what's the problem? They weren't managed by Gary Rowett (who might not have been born then).

Yes very pragmatic, however not sure there is any evidence that GR actually sees obvious solutions. Nevertheless it should be interesting which names he pulls out of the hat for his next line up if McClean is not available.

Question for Davef as he does seem to know what’s he is on about
Going slightly off tangent, if Stoke wanted to sign another winger such as Markovic from Liverpool, would there be anything wrong with Liverpool and the player agreeing to cancel his contract, thus becoming a free agent, meaning we can grab him on a free
Is that sort of thing possible or legal, as I notice Janssen, Markovic and King are all out of squads

Tom Ince if fit left wing, Diouf right. Failing that 4 3 3 with Woods coming in for McCLean along side Etebo and Allen.

If only we had a creative midfielder who once played for Barcelona who plays best down the middle. We could put one or two strikers in front of him and grab the game by the balls!

Is Bakary Sako still available on a free ? Time to find out pizza boys and quick. Everyone and his dog knew we were short out wide and here we go. One positive is that its McClean who is awful. I think sako is still available it wouldn't be a bad idea to bring him for a year with an option of a second year given he's 29 I think.

As long as we play our new striker up front we'll be fine^
Pieters has already bagged 2 starting from deep, imagine how well he'll do as a no9 and to be honest no one will notice he's missing in the defence, win - win.

No great loss but who the hell will Rowett stick out on the left now?
It’s an absolute lottery to guess
Ince Bojan Diouf Afobe
Ince on the left and Diouf on the right I guess is the only viable solution.
Maybe we can stick joe “ I have to play it’s in my contract “ Allen out there so at least we can have a solid midfield
