West brom poised to sign winger Sakho On a free too. And we paid how much for this character?
Plus he'll go straight back in, whatever level of fitness he hasn't got now after his lay off, so that's ano 3,4,5 or 6 games we carry him while he gets back up to speed?
We do seem to have missed a trick with a couple of free agents for me.

West brom poised to sign winger Sakho Seems some teams have a better idea of what they need. Isn't he unattached? Which means he was released and nobody wanted him. You have to ask yourself why?

But the answer isn't always as simple as you would think. It can be a contractual issue that just couldn't be settled. It could be a financially hard up club that decides it won't stand in the way of a talented player on the way up. It could be a talented player that just went under the radar at 18 but showed potential. Lots of different scenarios come into it. History shows a number of former frees that made it all the way to the top.

He was released in June by Palace and has been snapped up 4 months later by a very perceptive West Brom who clearly knew who they needed from day one. He will no doubt turn out to be an absolute belter but even West Brom have had their doubts otherwise why not snap him up in June? That is what I'm asking.

The Sakho thing is not straightforward - he was negotiating to stay at Palarse for quite some time and eventually decided not to take the terms offered. He had been injured and only came back late in the season to play well in a few games. Maybe they had some sort of pay as you play deal which he did not fancy? This left him a free agent late in the window. No doubt he is after a decent wage so it has taken him a bit of time to find a club who will pay him what he wants, I would imagine.
For the record, with only two wingers, both of whom have already been injured this season, and with his decent record in this league, I would have been happy to have given him a deal for this season with us.

Even if (in your scenario) he was asking for the kind of wages that put Premier League Palace off? As you say it's not straightforward this transfer thingy is it, even if some think it is?
