Get rid of Norton, install AVG or Avast and see how much faster your PC performs!!

Get rid of Norton but be careful with AVG. It can scatter things across your hard drive and cause problems when un-installing it if you need to.

AVG 7.5 (free) expires updates on 31/5/ 8 (ish).
AVG 8 is pants at the moment. Try Avira. There's a bit of nagware with it but it's free.

Not had any problems with AVG 8.
Never heard anything good about Norton and why pay for anti-virus protection when the free programmes (AVG, avast etc.) are just as good.

For me it's NOD32. Pisses on anything else that i've used. Norton is just bloatware.

Once had problems with my computer that required fixing. I was informed to take it into a shop in Burslem because not only are they very good but they never advertise their services due to them going strong through word of mouth.
After my computer had being repaired i was informed by a member of staff in the shop to use windows defender "free to use" in order to scan my computer for any viruses.
Needless to say my computer "touch wood" has not developed any kind of fault in the past 3/4 years since then.

McAfee is shit for home users, only worth having for business as they don't add all the crap you don't need. If the shop someone mentioned on here earlier is CTS in Burslem, my advice would be to give them a miss, I've heard a lot of bad things about them from where my girlfriend works. For home users all you need to be secure is:- AVG V8 Spybot Search and Destroy Windows Defender Spyware Blaster All above are free.
