Come on England! I think today is the day we "click".

If he plays Dier instead of Alli (if the reports are correct) then he wants stuffing. That is such a scaredy cat approach and totally against his mantra prior to the tournament. It smacks of playing for penalties 'we won't attack you if you don't attack us'
Just fucking go for it and if we go down, go down swashbuckling. Fuck Dier off. RLC.

But a red or second tournament yellow today counts and they miss the semi. It was brought in to stop a player missing the final because of a second yellow received in the semi a la Gazzer in 1990.

Alli was clearly carrying an injury on Tuesday. He also hasn't been as influential as we need him to be. Also if we go out having played Alli he'll get hammered for playing a not 100% fit player.

People are just brushing Sweden aside as if we've already won it. They are syrong organised team hard to break down. Sort of. However Sweden are the only side left who if we scored two against would be absolute certain of victory.

The criticism wasn't about Alli. I think he should be dropped on his current form anyway. It's his replacement. Dier is such a negative replacement and frankly not very good. Ruben Loftus-Cheek should come in. Someone prepared to drive forward from midfield. A straight replacement, no tinkering with the set up required.

We have nothing to fear against the Swedes. If we go out and play our high tempo game we SHOULD win. 2-0 England.

Sort of. However Sweden are the only side left who if we scored two against would be absolute certain of victory. The tricky part is scoring against them. Which is why we should go at them and not even be considering playing Eric Dier who is at best an average defensive midfielder. They don't offer much going forward but are hard to break down. Why are we even thinking of playing another defensive midfielder?

I feel sick. Come on England! I think today is the day we "click". 3-1 England. I hope you’re right fella. An early goal will help massively, but you just feel that the longer it remains 0-0, the more chance they have of nicking it. Would like to see Rose and RLC playing ahead of Young and Alli today but whoever starts need to be well on top of their game. The Swedes have a fantastic game plan that they execute to perfection nearly every time. If we have enough to break them down, well, we’ll soon find out!

The Swedes have a fantastic game plan that they execute to perfection nearly every time. If we have enough to break them down, we’ll, we’ll soon find out! I never saw this at the beginning but after I heard one of the commentators after one of the games so far saying that it was a tactical piece of magic with Southgate putting Young on the left. His discipline and maturity protects and brings out the absolute best in Maguire and that Rose being a lot more offensive will leave Maguire more open and pace is the one element he hasn't got which is why it works so well with Young basically being disciplined and largely staying back to support him. Soon as I heard it, it just made perfect sense... That said this will be a very different game today. I don't envisage Sweden doing anything but trying to get us on the break so I think it's more crucial than ever to stick with Young there. Also he has a quality last ball about him and if this game is likely to come down to a piece of magic getting put in the box I think Young is better placed to do that than Rose. Rose can then be saved for some quick legs later in the game when they start tiring as it's going to be roasting and sapping there today.

Their threat comes down their left with Forsberg though, which could limit Trippier’s runs forward. They’re weaker down their right, so having Rose as a more attacking option might actually be the way to go for this one.

This is where the chess game comes because we could be then opening up both sides for attack though at the same time ![:o](//storage.proboards.com/800541/images/7TTgAtwUz19SBi0cvrCX.gif) I'm glad I'm not a manager though. It's so much easier using downloaded tactics on FM ![(rofl)](//storage.proboards.com/800541/images/wMWjB17JNiCK5pUPtfmL.gif) I'm still quietly confident today. 2-0 to us.

Always liked the "We'll bring the urn home" song at the cricket.
Here's my attempt for the WC
Hoist up the St George Flag Pack up your luggage bag Tell the wife your back when the Cup"s home We'll bring the cup We'll bring the cup
You know the rest :-)

Have you heard this going around:
1966 WC win?
1 * 9 * 6 * 6 = 324
324 * 324 = 104976
104976 / 52 (years since 1966) = 2018.7
2018 July !!

H I might have been tempted to drop Sterling for Rashford as well although Rashford offers more off the bench against a tiring defence than Sterling would. Just don't leave it too late to bring him on. Give him time to have an effect.
