Agree no chance they’ll be wound up But for all those moaning about Coates and wanting a Chinese / American/Russian takeover this should be a salutary message. It doesn’t always work and can go badly wrong Quite like the Villa so hope they can get over this It hardly ever works and usually ends up in disaster. And that's exactly what would happen at Stoke if The Coates family put us up for sale.

Not sure what you mean here? They either have to pay up, dispute the dept, organise a CVA or go into liquidation. Clubs have gone into liquidation in the past. How many clubs over the last 15 years or so have been threatened with a winding up order. And how many have gone out of business? Rangers effectively went out of business.

Yes but he said 'wound up', I can't think of a football club in this country which has been wound up in my lifetime, not one in the top 2 divisions anyway and certainly not one on the scale of Aston Villa, it won't happen, that's what I mean! I remember Rangers fans saying similar.

Doesn't David Cameron support Villa...or at least he thinks he does
He's flushed with cash
He could sell a few of his houses and get em going!

So a whole 1 then out of probably around 10- 20. Plus the 1 you've identified got wound up because they got found out using a tax avoidance scheme.

Be interesting to get staffsvilla point of view Decent poster he is Was going to suggest the same. Now if the Club are in financial quagmire, does that equate to points deduction for start of season?

Which they used because they were in extreme financial difficulty. Anyway, I’m baffled what your point is exactly and as you must have good insight into Aston Villa’s specific financial details I’ll leave you to it.

A premiership team witch are under threat from above all people the Crown ! Crystal Palace, this is a serious tax problem that has been heard in open court. Palace have failed for the past 16 months to present their tax returns?, they have now 2 months to present those returns and all relevant papers. They have been warned that failure to disclose these will result in insolvency and goods dispersed and profits to the crown ?, this is not a rumour and can be viewed in open court cases.

Should have been done by 31st March. No doubt they'll have them submitted soon now that HMRC have fired their warning. Does pose the question though, Why are they late ? Usually means they've got something to hide.

Their last accounts submitted was 30 June 16 submitted 21st March 2017 (Deadline 31st March 2017) Their 30 June 2017 accounts where due 31st March 2018, which are now just over 2 months late.

As just a interested observer it does beg the question what are they hiding? Also would you want to deal with them?

I think it was used to cancel debts when they built their new stadium, that's when the 10 point penalty was brought in to ensure it didn't happen again, I think Ipswich did it at the same time.

Leicester were the last club to “get away with it” before they introduced the ten point penalty, and have continued to breach FFP in recent times. (Just don’t mention the doping to win the title [winky face])

Yes liquidation was just an easy way to clear your debts hence the points penalty.
