Alright guys,
I'm based in Singapore (moved here in Jan), and thinking of having a week in Thailand in July sometime. I've done Cambodia and Vietnam, but was wondering if you have any tips?
Would be looking to do my PADI while I'm out there, maybe get around some Islands etc. Also, do you fellas know anywhere where you can do day trips on a boat - complete with a skipper etc? I've got a rough guide but as you know they can be a little unreliable at times!

pattayapotter does a diving degree(or whatever it is) and i could put you in the right direction for a boat all day with a skipper.here in pattaya,you wont find it hard to get this also.i think ian will be here,so will i and pattayapotter may be here.soicowboy comes to pattaya for a pissup sometimes.

Any from Pattaya, Phuket or Krabi for the diving- my brother in law had a great time in Krabi doing the PADI thing
Very much 3 different places. Pattaya the lively tourist city, Phuket less so and Krabi a very quiet resort. All have many Islands to visit and boat tours come by the bucket loads.
Krabi and Phuket about 50 mins from Bkk by air and Pattaya about an our and a half drive from Bkk. If you want to party then Pattaya, the most popular holiday resort in Asia. Phuket a beautiful place that was hard hit by the Tsunami but plenty to do and see. Krabi an unwind place-dozens of Islands off Krabi if you just want to get away.
Will find what you want scuba and boat wise in all 3

No been back a few days- had to get a few things sorted up country but will be back in the week. Have to pick my motorbike plates up on 2nd road in the week so might be down Wednesday/Thursday. Ian is going away on Sunday so are you up for the party the next day to celebrate ;D

Thanks very much guys, looks like I will now be going to Bali in July instead! Slowly working my way around the South East Asia region - but I'm dying to go to Thailand - got a couple of travel books and it looks spectacular.
Maybe I'll wait until the season starts and hopefully catch a few other stokies there for our PREMIER LEAGUE game.

Hiya mate I do the Diving thing here in Pattaya in fact i have just qualified has a PADI Master Instructor ;D The Diving here is not up to much but the reason i came here is because Pattaya has one of if not the best Instructor Schools in the world, Mermaids CDC. I came here in February 07 for 4 months, unfortunatley i got stuck here with the likes of Hanibal and SoiCowboy  I am supposed to be leaving next week as my time is up and i think 12 months overstay is far too long. I am hanging around at present waiting on a job to come through, which is in Koh Chang..  As for boats there are plenty but you will need a Diving cert to hire one, so its best just to book with a School like Mermaids. The Open Water Course is approx £220 which takes 4 days and includes 4 ocean dives, that price is inclusive of everything.  SoiCowboy, don't let Hanibal pass the buck here you should have seen the state of him last night...... ;D And by the way 'Dad' that was the best 500 baht i have ever spent here ;D ;D ;D ;D |

Just been offered a job on Koh Phangan I guess you guys can always come see me on Full Moon Party ;D I really want the other job though but have to wait another week on a answer if i got it, knowing my luck i'll miss the boat (pardon punt) on this waiting for the other ???

nowt wrong with my state that a dozen cups of coffee wont cure lol.i mearly managed to walk home but got lazy and hot and bothered.didnt even take a kebab back so i wasnt that pissed heheheh.pool night tonite due to a cancelled game but i said no way,as i might be out on friday with that crazy soicowboy lol and ian.
