Dunno if I believe this, surely the curvature of the Earth would mean you'd be looking a fair distance above each other?

essentially light bends around the earth due to gravity and because it follows the precise contours of the earth (or any object with a gravitation pull strong enough) it appears to have travelled in a straight line. p.s did you know we can see stars that are behind the sun because their light bends as it approaches the sun.
cant believe im up a half 5 talking about special relativity theory..... so cameron jerome? 4 to 5 mill ? hmmm

I take it that's a pretty retarded comment then...? Fucking English and Drama student here, please correct me! It's a work of art. There isn't actually a tunnel going under the Atlantic, just a bit sticking out of the rivers at each end to give the impression that there is. When you look into one end, you'll just be starring at a screen, & then via the wonders of the internet & a webcam, you'll see people in New York (& vice versa)

so, even if it were real, there wouldn't be a problem of an horizon, as it would be a tunnel straight from a to b.

Ahh see I completely misread the article then, I thought it was two straight-up telescopes pointed directly at each other. I was actually talking to someone about it earlier in the day (more of a passing comment than a conversation) and they said they'd put a huge telescope up, so I'd been pondering about it for a couple of hours.
I dunno how I didn't even read anything about a tunnel, if I'd read that then it would have been obvious that it wasn't real.
