Looked to be a proper talent, yet when he came here he had all the flair and trickery coached out of him by Hughes. Hughes coached the skill out of players and the life out of the fans. Kinda sad sobhi is going but hope we get a good price for him, and hope he doesn't come back and bite us on the arse.

Sobhi had so much potential and I thought he was playing in the wrong position he’s not fast enough for a winger. Add another one to the Hughes fucked up list. So sad 😞 Huddersfield or Sunderland Dear me that’s not a good move eitherway tbh but neither is staying here bench warming. Such wasted talent. This is why Stoke can’t have nice things.

Easy to say that Hughes ruined him but I think players should take responsibility for their performances.

Quite clearly some players confidence was shot to shit and he was one of them. Never played consistently and then given a few games when Choupo wasnt fit. I like him and think as a 21 year old hes a good prospect for huddersfield. I mean by virtue of relegation no one was stand out for stoke. Some people are evening slamming Allen, Badou etc. Ha ha

Flair cant be coached out of a player. Hes never had it. To be fair he only ever played on the left wing 'cutting in' while he was here. It would've been interesting to see him as a winger on the proper side, which is presumably how he developed as a footballer. Coaching is a funny thing. Whoever thought Marcus Alonso and Victor Moses would make the grade at Chelsea? It's all about getting the right player in the right role in the right tactic. Salah was dumped twice before turning into Messi at Liverpool. Pogba was the next Zidane before rocking up at Man Utd. And that's why Sobhi should get a second chance under a new and better manager

Sobhi is limited. Move to Huddersfield lacks ambition, but not sure he is any better than Premier league relegation fight type team anyway. If this deal goes through, he may do the “double “.

Yeah, you're talking it on this one. You can lay a lot of blame at Hughes's door for all sorts of shit but not in this case imho. Sohbi has been given plenty of chances by Hughes and Lambert which he hasn't taken. He came back for pre-season last year and was in bad shape. His attitude stinks as well. He won't be missed.

According to Nader Shawki (Ramadans agent who i hate), he said medical examination results will be on Monday, David Wagner trusts Ramadan's capabilities and wants him too much so he will play regularly there and this is why he preferred this offer although they have other offers from other PL teams.

Either if he is going to leave or not, many people who are blaming Ramadan for having a poor season will blame Hughes and Lambert for that 1 or 2 seasons later.
Give Messi the defensive tasks Ramadan had and he will score 0 goal in the entire season, Shaqiri scored some goals because he doesnt care about the defense, when he loses the ball he stays upfront waiting for another one.

He was a much better player at 18 years old than what he is now at 20 years old, it is not about comparing his performance in Egy league and English League, it is about comparing his performance with the national team, the entire environment including his coaches didnt help him to improve, he is part from the problem but with better managers he was going to improve and contribute better for the team. All people complaint about his lack of end product but he was a machine of assists here for Al Ahly, he was a big contributor in Egypt qualification to AFCON and World Cup, he was always choosing the right decision but he didnt do that for Stoke because he is afraid he will be dropped (actually he was dropped even after good performances), he always preferred to let Peiters make an overlap and pass for him the ball (he wasn't doing that in his first season for Stoke), then Peiters cross it to the fans and Ramadan goes back to cover Peiters in the defense (he thought with this defensive contributions he will play regularly). Salah had a similar environment at Chelsea, he was supposed to defend and pass the ball for Hazard or Willian, he was their worst player, he didnt do any thing for them except couple of goals against Stoke and Arsenal, with the same player and different environment he became a world class player. Concerning Crystal Palace goal, yes it was a wrong cross at their penalty area but what about 2 players making a counter attack through 8 defenders from Stoke City, if you remember in the same game Shaqiri played a foul at mid-line directly to a Crystal Palace player it was a much easier counter attack for them because Stoke City defenders were waiting for Shaqiris long ball in CP penalty area (CP didnt score it), Imagine if Ramadan made the mistake Ryan made most probably he was going to be killed there, but on the Oatcake just after the game it was some topics about Thanks Ryan for everything. Ramadan was a fighter and he was turned into an employee thanks to Hughes and Lambert, I was believing in Salah before he went to Basel and I believe Ramadan will be a super star, the same for another guy called Trezegeut playing in Turkey, consider me a crazy stupid person but upcoming years will prove this.

I have very reliable information that Hughes took Sobhi to one side and told him to concentrate on getting back and defending That doesn't sound like terrible advice for a Premier League wide player - that's part of the job. That also wasn't the problem with Ramadan. He became frightened of taking players on, he wasn't especially quick and he had the decision-making skills of a pissed-up spaniel.

I honestly thought he would step up and fill Arnie's shoes last season. But he seemed off the pace right at the start of the season. Then he just didn't get a good run of games. When Arnie had to sit behind Moses and get the odd 10 mins as sub, or the odd game, he looked bang average, when Moses got injured and he had a run of games, he looked a world beater. I will be disappointed if he leaves as I think he is a decent prem standard player, given the right guidance.

True but given that Pieters rarely defended properly, if at all and Hughes kamikaze tactics he’s on to a loser.
He was also pretty dismayed at the lack of caring after getting thrashed and couldn’t understand why players were laughing and joking after matches.
Funny how he had so much and ended up producing so little, personally I blame the club and if he goes to Huddersfield it’ll be the same there for him.

I have some sympathy with Dr Hesham's point of view - although I can also understand some of the criticism Ramadan gets from other Stokies. What annoyed me was that, whilst Ramadan clearly wasn't producing the end product we all hoped he would, there was clearly a lot of skill there albeit with large scope for improvement. For me there was clearly a confidence problem. Whilst I can understand Ramadan getting dropped after a couple of poor games, Hughes equally often dropped him after a good game or two. He had a poor start to the season just ended and can have few complaints at being out of the side but, towards Christmas, he put in some decent performances and yet still found himself dropped. I don't see how any young player short on confidence is going to regain that confidence if he is dropped after a good performance. A similar thing happened with Edwards. He had a baptism of fire but by mid season was producing some decent, consistent, performances. Quite why Lambert never even gave him a game is beyond belief. He remains the best crosser of a ball at the club - something which you would think we would want to exploit if we were putting Crouch in the starting eleven. ![:(](//storage.proboards.com/800541/images/4tzqvp1fxEemag_TAXLJ.gif) I also think Dr Hesham has a point as regards Salah. Chelsea (or should I say Mourinho?) do seem to fail to bring out the best in some of their young players - Moses and Lukaku both prospered at other clubs and it took a change of manager at Chelsea for Moses to prosper at Chelsea after several years in the wilderness. I rather wish Ramadan was being given a chance to prosper under Rowett, but if it is not to be, then hopefully he will prosper under his new manager at Huddersfield - I'm sure there is a decent player in there somewhere.

I'm not recognising these descriptions of Hughes as some kind of 'do your defensive duties' bigot.
I thought he was pretty gung-ho as Stoke City managers go.
That's why we kept going for 6 or 7 goals, he'd rather chase a game against a top 6 club we are behind in than hang on for a respectable defeat. For Pulis and briefly Lambert any goal against was a dagger to the heart. I never felt that with Hughes.
Guess what I am saying is I very much doubt he coached the life out of anyone.

Could Ramadan strike a ball properly when he was full of confidence in Egypt?
He hasn't really been able to do it at Stoke, goals have tended to be tap ins and everything I've seen suggests he has incredibly poor technique when striking the ball. I've watched him many times when the players are doing their shooting warm-up in front of the Boothen, he scuffs it more than he strikes it cleanly.
