All depends on the salary in my eyes. I think a few on here are overlooking some of the quality in the Championship by saying he'd be fine in the Championship etc - there are some really pacey strikers in the Championship who could really give him the runaround. I don't care about his salary mate. That's for Coates to lose sleep over. It's his fitness I'm mithered about and as you say getting the run around by the likes of Cameron Jerome

Huth hasn't played all season, is 34 and won't be getting any fitter. You don't get out of the Championship with nostalgia. I love Robert and everything he accomplished while he was here, but it's time to move on from this nostalgia we have of 2011.

If we're seriously contemplating bringing Huth back that must mean we believe we are likely to lose either BMI or Ryan (or both). Can't see us bringing in Huth on a relatively high salary (even if he takes a big cut) to be back up to them two when we have the two young lads who are both much cheaper and more willing to sit on the bench. There is no way in this world BMI will be playing champ football next year with us. This is another example of the cloud cuckoo land thinking that goes on here on the oatcake.

Torn on this one.
I’d probably say no if pushed, but it’s a tight one.

So who's the new manager?
Nigel Pearson, Ranieri or VT?

More likely to turn up at Middlesbrough if they are still in the Championship He is an ex player for them too I didn’t realise that he has made the most premier league appearances by a German player and actually failed his medical when they tried to sign him first time
Bruno and Shawcross should be our central defenders supported by Bauer and Pieters Attacking players who can score goals and players who can get the ball then the priority imo

Other comments suggest he was meeting Ryan after his recent bereavement

Other comments suggest he was meeting Ryan after his recent bereavement Could be true but if so why at the training ground? He would know where he lives and would still be in contact with him

I think we've missed having a lot of unfit and slow mid 30 year olds this season. It's the future.

The Sunday Times said we had a 2010 subs' bench on Saturday, with Fletcher, Ireland and Adam. We need to do something about that, not add to it. Huth was immense for us, and was certainly sold too soon, but we need to move on now.

Given the recent news Lambert could be set to leave, Huth as number 2 to Pulis if Boro fail to get promoted?!

Well done cilla you read my post a few months back and try pass it off as your own.. Well I definitely didn’t read your post from a few months ago and try to pass it on as my own info. I was told two weeks ago he’d been at CW lots recently and a deal was almost done. There is probably more than one source pal so dunna get your tits in a twist pal.

Who's signing him, Cilla, since we are allegedly on the cusp of replacing the manager?

Depressing news but highly doubtful.

Unless the source at the club is lying, but i don't see any reason why. He's been at clayton wood all week meeting old team mates and getting paperwork done. I've heard were looking offload Wimmer and recoup some of the money we paid for him, so i guess its wimmer's replacement. No mentions of indi leaving as of yet

Would you want him in a starting 11, probably not given the pace of the Championship. Would you put him ahead of Wimmer on the bench, absolutely.

Why the fuck are we so desperate to live in the past. Robert fucking Huth. Fuck sake. If it's true mate it's a sure sign we are doing it on the cheap. Bring back an old favourite to keep the chumps happy. Oldest trick in the book. Let's see if it's true first, though.

I don't see the sense in bringing Huth back at the age he is. Putting aside sentimentality, it doesn't stack up for football reasons alone.

Huth is a Stoke hero, but it is a no from me. We have enough aging and slow players from before.
