Get some goals in the side now and we have a chance. Not sure we have a chance of getting any goals in the side though.

I will stick to who needs/deserves to be relegated West Brom Express and star west Brom seek financial help. They are spent up. Swansea. Top of their wage structure. Huddersfield Small club. Newcastle Up for sale . reduce the purchase price and the wage bill. So that a new buyer has finances to purchase new players West ham Snake Southampton Manager Therefore not us. None of which will help when we're relegated

I think we need to hope that both Palace & Swansea are clear of danger come the end of the season and rely on getting 6 points off them from the last 2 games of the season pretty much like we gifted Wigan 3 points 4/5 seasons ago, 3 points from the home game against Burnley and a point away at West ham and I can see us staying up with both Huddersfield & Southampton having some tough games and joining West Brom in the bottom 3.

To be fair mate I'm with you I still think it's possible whatever the result I would sack PL the day the season ends.

Sadly who 'needs/deserves' to be relegated, the world doesn't work like this and the only teams who deserve to be relegated at the 3 that won't muster more than 36 pts during a season with fixtures against probably 11 site teams and 3 bang average teams. I think this season has been one of the poorest in terms of quality the Prem has delivered for some time. Or maybe I am falling out of love with Prem league footie....which maybe a good thing!

to stay up we would need 2 or 3 points against spurs and arsenal which I can't see happening.
winning all 4 of the "winnables" would also be doable but can't see it.
I think we will go and be 5-6 adrift as well.
sad really. thanks lads

Yes I think you have something there. But can you imagine going in to the final 2 matches needing 6 points to even have a chance when we have won only 1 game since before Xmas !? I do agree though, this scenario represents our best and perhaps only chance.

Not an attitude/opinion that should be taken by supporters of Stoke City. Why's that? They get 4/5k fewer fans through the gate than us but that hardly matters in the grander scheme of football finance these days. Their history is a long and proud one which knocks our '1 League Cup' in to a cocked hat: ...the first English team to win three successive league titles – a feat that only three other clubs (Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United) have been able to match. They have won the FA Cup in 1922 and have been runners-up on four other occasions.

I do agree, but somewhat bizarrely, there’s a not-too-uncommon wider perception that bands our club together with the likes of Wigan and Barnsley, in terms of size and stature. When we lost to Coventry there were Coventry fans on the bbc talking about the only shock is that it’s considered a shock, with Coventry being a bigger club from a bigger city (potteries conurbation is larger than Cov conurbation btw) with “more history” etc etc. All downright deluded, historically retarded nonsense of course, yet those sorts of comments were massively upvoted.

To get out of this mess,we need to score goals, how many strikers do we have in our squad, yet none of them have a goal in them. Take Shaq. out of the squad,we don't have a goalscorer at all.

There is definitely still a chance of us staying up, but it's easier for me to say we're gone now, because I'm 99.9% sure we are.
The hope kills you. So i'm ignoring it.

And to make matters worse, we don't create enough chances to make up for our strikers not being clinical. We are in desperate times, and we are trying to eke out results. We should be trying to make the most of what we have. Instead of playing goofball, why not concentrate on crossing the ball and making chances for the strikers? I would go 3-5-2 and tell the strikers to gamble more. We are in danger of going down without a fight. I don't think Lambert has a gamble in him, though.

I would go 3-5-2 and tell the strikers to gamble more. We are in danger of going down without a fight. I don't think Lambert has a gamble in him, though. Arguably our best players, when on form, are Zouma, Shawcross, BMI, Bauer, Allen and Shaqiri. To the get the very best out of them, it make sense to go 3-5-2, 3-4-2-1 or 3-4-3 (or whatever the fuck it was when we got Shaqiri and Choupo more central with a back 3) when we have a fully fit squad to choose from. Hughes playing a back 3 with no wing-backs and forcing the likes of Johnson and Wimmer into a back 3 to cater for injury was ridiculously stupid but with a fully fit team, I genuinely believe it gives us the best chance of picking up results and it allows us to get Shaqiri and Choupo more central, where they are definitely more effective. Butland Zouma, Shawcross, BMI Bauer, Allen, Badou, Stafy Shaqiri, Diouf, Choupo For me, this is our best chance of giving us a sniff of a chance of staying up. Sadly, I fear that Lambert is a dinosaur who will continue to plod along in the hope that we can nick a goal and defend a 1-0 lead enough times to see us safe. Either way, the 3 in midfield has to disappear and if we are to persist with a back 4, we've got to go more gung ho, with a 4-2-3-1 formation that sees Shaqiri in the no10/central role behind Diouf.
