That's the only difference 2 instead of seven the defending was shit and we were impotent up front we never even have it a go. Don't lose mentality will not stop us being relegated and that's OK only plan and he's shit at that. The defending was shit? really? I thought we held up really well against the best side in the league, who've torn teams (us included) apart. They certainly had a far more difficult time than the reverse fixture. I agree we need to go more attacking, but I refuse to accept that Hughes was better, by the end he had completely lost the plot. And he's not that shit at not losing. We've lost 2 under him, one against the best team i've seen at the Brit. and hes played the teams just as toss as us and scraped a few draws.

Their defence wonβt improve but unfortunately they probably will start to score more goals. If he sticks around for a while heβll sink them though.

A turd is a turd no matter how I look at it. You're missing the point massively mate, you really are.Β Your point of view here is so short sighted it's untrue. What exactly do you expect in return of Lambert if he is sacked?Β Someone remotely better who plays expansive football?Β Look at the board and their choices, look at how they are systematically reducing first team investment at the same time. They have appointed Tony Pulis and Mark Hughes beforehand, with Hughes, a known pragmatist being the most exotic of choices. Wake up. I'm not disputing there are other issues in fact I've said so. This is about PL and he's shit and did not deserve the job as has done 100% nothing to improve the situation in my opinion it's worse.

So they've given him a contract until the end of the season.
Makes sense.
Unlike what we did.

It isn't about PL, its about a board of directors that didn't back their manager, sat back and watched him struggle, sacked him far too late when it went too far and replaced him with one of three candidates, all of which fit the modus operandi of 'pragmatic football manager'. If you have an issue with PL you have a bigger issue with the owners and board of directors that chose to appoint him. Whether you choose to admit it or not.

He did a good job with us inheriting someone else's squad and adding more flair. I'm worried he'll do the same with them and get them over the line.

Sorry mate I can't remember them missing loads of chances. Remind me? And we very nearly scored 3 goals albeit two would have been very spawny (not unlike the 2 at the Etihad). If you could not see that there's no point explaining they were taking the piss out of a side shaking like a shiting dog. What you mean is you actually can't remember all these chances you spoke about. That's ok then I thought I was losing my marbles. Don't let your obvious and irrational hatred of Lambert and love of Hughes mask your vision. We were well beaten but at least we didn't sit back and take it up the arse like we did at the Etihad. PS did you have the 'Hackneyed simile' little red book for Christmas?

He did a good job with us inheriting someone else's squad and adding more flair. I'm worried he'll do the same with them and get them over the line. Exactly this. I am concerned he will get them moving offensively for the few games left and whilst will ignore defensive work that wont matte in the short term as the defence isn't exactly leaking goals. I'm more concerned that it could also be at our expense.

He will have to speak publicly about his stoke sacking now up. No chance. Any questions about Stoke will be deflected onto how he believes he'll be able to keep Southampton up. If he got a good pay off and shook hands with St. Peter, we may never hear anything more than we already know.

At least one, and probably both, are going to be a bit disappointed on that score, you'd think...
