A couple of years after playing in the Premiership Sunderland are hurtling towards oblivion, their fall off is scary and I really hope we get our shit together. Seems just as likely to drop further down than bounce back up.

33 points to play for. We need 15 to get to 40 points. Probably only need 12 or 13 points. Plenty of opportunity to save our skins. Sunderland are a busted flush cos the owner has given up on the club. We have an owner who still shows he cares even if some of his decisions have us scratching our heads.

Why would any poster on here wish it ?, the sane ones wished Hughes had been sacked two years ago, we were called knicker wetters etc. by the half witted happy clappers on this board, those predictions have come to fruition inevitably, reality has struck home with many only two years too late t save our PL status shameful.

Couldn't agree more. I said Hughes is turning us into QPR 7 months ago and people we're saying i was the one losing the plot. getting slated left right and center. Now look....

We are on our way back to the dark days. Gifty boy, why like a post that suggests we're on our way back to the 'dark days' and then argue that you're not wanting to be proved right when you predict similar? Sort your head out.

Some of those dark days were quite bright. Shrewsbury vs stoke or Stoke vs Arsenal All of the 92-93 season Stoke v Stockport (at Wembley not the playoff) Peterborough v Stoke Stoke v Bristol (at Wembley) Cardiff v Stoke Shining lights in a morass of shite. Just off the top of my head. There have been others It's all relative and doesn't have to be Premier League related. Sometimes beating Shrewsbury 4-0 in the 1st division can be a better feeling than losing 4-0 to Arsenal in the Premier League.

Has your owner turned his back on your club as well? More or less that's what his definition of self sufficiency means in professional football you have to be willing to invest enough to stay on the gravy train. We've been through this with him before unwilling or unable to fund investment he has taken us to what is now League One twice already under his guidance. The picture is much clearer on this occasion it's definitely unwilling.

Thank you for labelling me a half witted happy clapper. Fyi two years ago we were playing some of the best football I have seen In my lifetime.sadly mh lost his way and after the chelsea surrender he sealed his own fate.however was there anyone better out there to replace him? Would mh have gained more points than pl in our last 4 fixtures? i canot stand all this negativity on this board. You post a lot but do you ever go to a game? I suspect not. I am firmly behind pl now and one good win will turn our season around hopefully starting on saturday at leicester.

Given the riches In the prem there should be no need for the owners to keep bailing us out.spending big is great until the owner gets bored or skint.but its no surprise people seem to think that you just go out and buy the plater you want like going to tesco.its this short term thinking that has most of the uk knee deep in debt.the coates family have dug deep allready to get us up and stay up, they should be rewarded not slated.

We very seldom won at Shrewsbury. sure Moyes was at CH when we first went there followed by Pearson. we raided that club for players as well
