The only positive is that we escaped with a clean sheet...which was more by luck than judgement. That was ultra shite and as bad as anything we've produced this season. What is luck you are talking about? It was a shit game granted but we thoroughly deserved a point. Our clean sheet was never in danger was it? Shawcross's excellent block at the end saved the clean sheet

It was like watching a championship game (hope that’s no sign of the future) We weren’t good, but when a team come to match you man for man even when you change it it’s not going to be pretty Two games now and only one half worth watching With four points gained. At the moment that is the only thing that matters. Still early days I suppose I know we’ve gone back to basics but, that was a little to basic

Lucky they were as shit as us, yes. Play like that on Saturday and Bournemouth front line will destroy us. Fair play to you if you are still optimistic after watching that shit. If badou isn't superman, we are going down. looks like you've set your stall out to be the first Lambert critic, well done. If you thought that was as bad as anything you've seen this season you mustn't have noticed how pathetic our heavy home defeats have been this season. Fact is if the season finished today we would be safe, if it finished last week we would be down.

Against Huddersfield was a good template of where the basics should be. Last night was 2 teams struggling to find a gear, as a consequence it was a fucking dreadful match. Add to that we were nowhere near as intense.

Apart from the header off the line and the last ditch tackle from ryan, no never in danger Bang on, that fuckup for the Pereyra break through would have been a disaster if Ryan hadnt have saved us.

Awful doesn't even begin to cover it, if it was on tv I would have switched over to Coronation Street or some other crap I never watch it was that bad beginning to wonder whether I'm getting too old for it. Freezing my knackers off to watch 22 blokes on about £50k a week average produce such dross the ball must have spent less than 5 minutes touching the grass in the whole game. Where did the intensity go? Adam and Fletcher want fucking off to the nearest donkey sanctuary, Choupo needs a testosterone implant. That was one of the four remaining games I had us down to win, we need to win one I didn't expect us to now probably something away from home where I didn't have us down for any wins. Fail to beat Brighton and we really are staring down the barrel.

Not much between the sides really.

It was an improvement. We showed tenacity and kept the sheet clean. That is an improvement. Poor though the game was failing to acknowledge so is just negative bollox.

Yes. We often lost this kind of game under Hughes. Clean sheet, solid defence, nothing dropped for us, you can't win all of the time. We often lost this game under Hughes ...no we won these type of games last year I should have added 'in more recent times'....

And there's way too much of it (negative bollox) on here after last night. We seem to have a special breed of 'supporter' almost willing for things to go tits-up, because it gives them a reason to vent. It's pathetic.

Shit game, shit ref,but an improvement, only plus clean sheet. The ref was spot on. The ref was pathetic even worse than Oliver in the previous game if that's even possible. He booked Bauer for a clean tackle did you miss that? Shit game, shit officiating, shit result, two fucking hours freezing my nads off without a fucking grain of entertainment.

Fact is if the season finished today we would be safe, if it finished last week we would be down. Not at all. I love Lambert. He's pissed off Burnley supporters in the past and my mum met him last night and said he was a lovely man. I'm merely commenting on last night's game which was abject rubbish. We'll need to be much better on Saturday.

Definite improvement - and the sort of performance we can expect (and need) for the rest of the season.
I'm as guilty as anyone in wearing rose tinted spectacles thinking we are a top ten side waiting to get into gear - and in the end that unjustified optimism resulted in insipid, confused performances that eventually did for Hughes.
We are in a dog fight with ten other teams. The game was terrible - but we rolled our sleeves up and got involved in a dog fight with one of the more aggressive of our rivals and got a point. Overall I thought we looked the better team (only just - thanks to an awful performance from Fletcher) but the quality gap wasn't big enough to turn over an organised and battling Watford. The same performance against a team with a softer underbelly would have seen us win.
The performance was poor - but the change in attitude was enormous and in terms of survival probably more important. If you didn't like what you saw last night I suggest you turn away for the rest of the season - thankfully there is more of that to come.

Watford were set up to break all momentum, how their fans were ever in a position to criticise us under Pulis I'll never know. At least we played the game hard where they feigned the slightest injury
If this is continental play you can keep it
Thought we lacked creativity and pace
I'm not convinced we're up to the relegation dog fight
Just hope there are three worse teams with poorer luck than us

I felt totally flat after last nights game , mainly I think through the realisation that we really haven’t got much in the locker with regard this squad. We’ve had some very basic defence organisation which was essential but poor sides can nullify us with ease and I’m willing to bet that when we come up against a good one they will still be able to pick holes in us. If Lambert gets us safe this season he has done a hell of a job but I’m not sure where it’s going to take us in the future.

Looked stronger defensively but still so far off on energy and pace. The.new lad really has to hit the ground running because.the midfield apart from Allen is out of its.depth. Going forward is Douf good enough really and do Choupo and Shaq contribute enough? Certainly not last night . It's going to be a tough to in .

Shit game, shit officiating, shit result, two fucking hours freezing my nads off without a fucking grain of entertainment. Watch it again, Bauer does not get the ball.. He goes through the man. The ref didnt get a single decision wrong, his was the best performance of the night.

4 pts out of 6, plus 2 clean shots, has to be light years ahead of the all too painful LMH standards.
But, we can and must do more.

Good performance for me.
We have done everything right except score - I have seen us play worse than that and win.
It will help us that we play again in 3 days - we need that momentum whilst we are defending well - because whilst we are keeping teams out, it wont matter how bad you are at the other end as chances will come regardless and we will score goals. That’s Premier League football in a nutshell.
Gotta say Lambert has been a success so far too.

If we manage to stay up and it’s a big if,we will only have to endure the same shit next season until we finally drop through the trapdoor. The financial backing and ambition have long gone.

Im worried Lambert had ten days with them and we seemed to play the same tactics as Hughes nothing’s working throw on Crouch it’s not working throw on Berahino the Defence seems more settled but it’s the lack of ideas in the final third that worries me and the quality of the strikers in it we seem incapable of collecting a ball and running at goal and unleashing a shot we just stop and turn back or play it square to someone else to take responsibility!

Similar to first half of last week. Fine defensively but a massive lack of quality in midfield. We seem terrified to get the ball down, and when we do try to there's no sharpness or quality in the passing.
N'Diaye has a hell of a lot to do to improve that midfield.
Cameron Allen Ndiaye next game please.

I think were honestly jumping too far ahead of ourselves. Yes we beat Huddersfield at home, BUT, imo that was a fantastic result, Lambert has not even been with us a month yet, and in the grand scheme of things, with the shower of shit we have, and the absolute dier position Hughes has left us in, its really not gonna be a miracle overnight guys.
He hasn't even had chance to sign anybody, which means Lambert job is so difficult.
