I've gone through various stages of frustration, depression, anger and bewilderment over the past months.
Frustration with the inability to change Mark Hughes when we should have done so before we even kicked a ball this season. Depression from the appalling standard of defending combined with an alarming lack of penetration in the opponents half. Anger from the board's complete lack of decision making in the face of relegation staring them squarely in the face. Bewilderment at the appointment of Paul Lambert as our new manager.
On reflection I haven't really enjoyed the last 18 months as the management, the team and even us, the fans, have become unconsciously complacent about our right to be a fixture in the Premier League. And make no mistake, if we had retained Leslie, we would surely have forfeited that right.
However, I watched the match last night and quite bizarrely enjoyed it. Our fans were back to their sardonic, supportive best. The players showed more perspiration for the badge and the new manager conducted himself with dignity and humour at an interesting press conference earlier today.
In short, I just think we might have got our mojo back just in time.. It's tight and we've got a mountain to climb but I'm on the train.. right behind the new manager. A manager who is extremely proud to manage our football club.
Time to get the old siege mentality back.. starting Saturday.
C'mon STOKE.

We are City till we die.
We have to stay up.
We have our wish - Hughes is gone.
Now we have to play our part in the battle for survival.

This is the most important game for our club in 10 years since the Leicester game to get promotion.I honesty believe that this game will go a long way to determine whether we stay up or go down.A win will give us an enormous boost and we all need to get behind the team and create a real atmosphere. It will bring back memories of that 1st season in the Prem when everybody in the media had written us off and we were determined to prove them wrong. Can't wait for Saturday bring it on!!

Think it's right and proper - especially when we've got an underwhelming new manager. Sure the bet365 will be buzzing on Saturday- don't think the players deserve it though.

I have not been happy with how the club has been run of late.
But I get the feeling that they might just have got this appointment spot on.
I hope they back their man as well & we can get a few more quality signings over the line asap.
I'm in - Welcome Back to the Bear Pit.
Bring it on.

Hearing more and more of this and I like it.
I genuinely think we have enough quality, experience and fight in our squad to survive. We are not cut adrift and while Lambert is far from the ideal candidate, he is not a bad manager and worked miracles at Norwich.
Above all though, you can sense that quiet but steadily rising current of the siege mentality that defined our fight for survival nearly a decade ago. Enough of us are beginning to feel it and we are putting aside the anger, depression and bewilderment as we collectively realise what is at stake here.
