Just coming away from the ground...
Bauer - Looked really positive and attacking getting down the right. Plenty of pace and a decent engine. Good debut.
Fans - Immense tonight. Never stopped singing if Lambert was listening in his seat it must have filled him confidence knowing the fans are behind him.
Onwards.

We created 4 decent chances-with a bit more composure and ruthlessness it could have been a close game. The Manchester Giants team were just too big and strong for us.

Thought Stephen Ireland looked bright. Brighter than I thought he would.

There's way more than 2 from tonight. 👍 Such as ? 😀 Ireland provided some movement and a link. He just needs a mobile striker to work with. Despite going 1 down early our heads noticbly didn't drop. Psychologically that's huge. Indi got a game into his legs. We had a bit of a shape about us and fight. Lambert could see every issue we have laid out in front of him. So there was: Butlands kicking Lack of a left back Kurt Zouma The midfield 2 Shaq's lack of ability to protect his full back. Choppers predictability Crouch And they may seem negative but it's not. You learn very little from good things but when things go wrong, you can see that, learn and then change them. And that's massively positive for me. It felt ok, we competed and our stupidly killed us. Again that can be learned from. He's just got to show it now.
