The longer this mess drags on without comment from any board members the more damage is being done to our image.
Today we need a statement from Coates or Scholes to let us know what is going on, otherwise the assumption is that we are nosediving to disaster.
Maybe we don’t deserve to be in the Premier League the way we are run.

I was discussing this just this morning with 'marrer' We can't believe that there's been NO announcement of any sort from any official; no explanation of their 'failures' to land a half-decent Manager, no attempt to calm the supporters...............NOTHING WTF!!!!!!??????

Maybe we don’t deserve to be in the Premier League the way we are run. Maybe THEY don't deserve to run a Premier League club morelike. WE (the fans) deserve better than this. If Bet365 was run the way Stoke City is run it would go into liquidation.

Not surprised.
I guess the club has offered peanuts as usual, we get rejected, we lose time, we then offer more, we get 5th choice manager, we have no time to shop properly in January, we end up making panic buys, high wages and long term contracts.

To concoct a statement that is positive and doesn’t make the club look totally incompetent is a hell of a task - they have probably decided not to bother and to pretend that none of this has ever happened.

The whole lot of them are cowards to a man. They know they have fucked up big time and are heading to the Championship. That's why the silence is deafening.

Why would the Board let Stoke fans know what's going on, They have never given a fuck about the fans, why would they start doing so now?

Went to my first game Boxing Day 1969 - this is the most embarrassed I've ever been? So not 3-0 down at home to Chester City by half time in the third division? Losing 7-0 at home to Birmingham after putting the team up for sale? I could name a hundred more but you get the point. The whole thing is an avoidable mess, but try not to join in the hysteria.

Me and the boy have had to run the gauntlet at the school gates today of taunts and wise cracks from his glory hunting mates and their dads in their Man Utd coats. The next communication we’ll see from the club will be a tweet from their media department saying they’d like to welcome ‘insert name of crap manager’ to SCFC!

The board may have brought this upon themselves, but I do get the feeling that they have been royally fucked over by someone somewhere along this sorry road and also have perhaps acted rather naively.
Whatever statement they might make would be a no-win situation. Should they really come out with an official announcement now to say "yeah we've fucked up big time folks, soz, but we hope to appoint Paul Lambert within the next 24 hours"?
I'd prefer they focus their efforts on finding the right replacement and only communicate once it's signed and sealed.

In the footballing world at the moment, we’re the equivalent of the fat lad in school falling over, and everyone pissing themselves at him whilst his dinner and his man-tits splay out everywhere.

It's like the Rowett situation, I know we never wanted him, yet it was played in the media that we did and Derby won the day. It looked pretty poor for us, it wasn't yet the image is one of a club that couldn't get a Championship manager and that was before this whole charade fully developed.

Someone leaked something about us being in for Rowett to the press, whether true or not. It wouldn't have been a board member that's for sure (it was probably Rowett through his agent). If we weren't in for him then he didn't turn us down. But because it was written in the press and on Twitter, are you suggesting the club should have released an official statement denying those reports? If that's the case then the media team would be working all hours releasing statements denying our interest in god knows how many managers we've been linked with over the past week.

They did and we didn't respond with our own rebuttals in the press until he had signed a new contract and by then it was too late. Which all sounds a bit familiar. Yes of course, we did indeed do that via the Sentinel too! But it was after the contract had been signed and no one cared and it looked like sour grapes. It was badly handled, we got played, which is fine if you then take control.

Nope not expecting that but Coates or Scholes in front of a camera saying ‘The search for our new manager continues feverishly with myself and the board. There will always be speculation linking people to the club, some correct and some not. Meanwhile we are working hard to find the best man for the job and to ensure our Premier League survival. We have an important game this evening and we would like to wish the players the very best of luck with that. ......now because of the way this has been handled already and their previous you may not believe a word of that , but that’s what I would do right now
