I'm never sad about these things anymore. None of those mentioned would be where they are today if they wound up at Stoke.

It's fair to say that if only us and Hull were sniffing, and it was only £2.5m, at the time:
A) he was crap, and B) there was no way of knowing how good he would become

In all fairness, at that time, there was no way of knowing how good he was going to actually become.
Besides, if he’d have come here he’d have probably been playing in goal for £12.50 a week, whilst Scholes furiously yanked at his little ferret pisser screaming the words “Self-sufficiency” to himself.

I thought it was common knowledge that Hughes tried to sign him twice, once on loan from Chelsea then once permanently before He went to Roma.
It was for more than 2.5m though

Yes of course we were. Managed in 2012 by Tony Pulis, we went in balls deep for a winger, then aged 19 from an Egyptian club.
Right you are.

According to Craig Honeyman, Stoke City and Hull City showed some interest in Salah 5 years ago when he was the superstar of the Egyptian national team U20 and Al Mokawlon "Mid table Egyptian club", Craig offered Salah for them for 2.5 millions but they rejected the offer then he moved to Basel for approximately the same cost.

Time for us to be rebranded or change the product then we might attract these quality players or at least be in a shout for them. What is the vision of the ownership ?.

In our mess of a system he'd be wank. He's only flourishing because of how Liverpool play.
Messi would struggle in our set up at the minute.

Didn't something similar happen with Javier Pastore?
We even had him on trial if memory serves me correct?
