I am off to Switzerland in a few weeks for 10 days during Euro 2008. We are staying on a fan camp just outside Bern.
While the football isn't on, has anybody who has been to Switzerland got any recommendations on what to do and any places of interest that are worth visiting?

Been a few times. Geneva worth a visit, Cathedral & walk down to the lake, eat out in one of the open air restaurants (bit on the expensive side!) or Montreux, Freddie Mercury statue down by the lake, good shopping (There's even a C & A there) Generally expensive compared to here, usually very warm this time of year, and the air is so fresh & clean.

geneva, about 15 years ago was quite nice. Have a climb up the mountains if you are into that sort of thing.

If you don't mind a bit of expense and travel, get yourself on the train up the Eiger. It stops halfway up the mountain so you can get out and have a scary look out of a window on the north face, then carries on to the top of a glacier area bit.
One minute you're baking your skin in alpine valley sunshine, the next you're throwing snowballs at each other. Great day out, not to be missed. Stunning views, but jesus it's dear.
