Rowett wouldn't cut it with Stoke. Another clanger in the making. The huge amount of experts on this forum is just absolutely staggering.

Rowett is a young, driven (I will not use the words ambitious/ambition for anything to do with the club ever again) manager, keen to progress - the last time we appointed one of those was Cotterill - oops! At least he is unlikely to leave us for Sunderland!

Moyes has turned us down (alleged), big Sam would want an hefty wage and his last two positions have ended in disaster! A week ago most supporters wanted Lambert to be given an chance, now some are moaning because we could possibly sign an English young manager with a point to prove who will be backed by the board. If Rowett gets appointment then I will certainly be interested on how he takes the club forward, I most definitely have him over Paul Lambert any day of the week!!! Really? Yeh 100%

yeah but 100% of those 42 wanted him to stay and be given a chance. Not sure whether its an oxymoron or just a common everyday type.

Excellent appointment if we pull this off, Took Burton to the league 2 play offs. Took Birmingham from relegation contenders to a play off challenging team. He has also done a fairly decent job at Derby a club which has found it difficult to pull themselfs out of the championship with several decent managers.

Would prefer Potter or Cook. Derby fans say that the style of play is awful and the clubs gone backwards. Even Blues fans thought the football was dull but we’re just glad to be in the top half of the table. Thought Derby were painful to watch in the play offs.

I saw both games and Derby were awful...I know he can work with the players he has got but imo I was not impressed....who knows we will see and I wish him all the best!

Fulham are probably the best footballing side in that league by a stretch. So difficult to play against. He got good results against the likes of Cardiff etc.

Tony Pulis like in his approach but if that is how the club want to go then fair enough, as long as he is fully backed

Rowett is a good manager - very "Dyche-like" in the way he gives priority to the defence.
If Dyche had left last season, I would have been OK with Rowett as a successor.

I wouldn't want Pulis back or any of yesterday's men on the managers' merry-go-round, but if Rowett can do what Pulis did and get us promoted (with probably a bigger budget than Pulis had), secure Prem. place, and a trip to Wembley for a cup final and get into Europe, then that's OK with me.
We want a manager with a successful future, not a past.

What is it with people saying he had his chance and he turned us down in January....he was never offered the job or even given an interview <<< Bangs head against the wall >>> He was 100% sounded out on the possibility of him coming mate He made a statement to the Sunday Mirror in January.... "Why I turned down the Stoke job" Headline. Half page feature which Administration of the oatcake have got a copy of.
