It feels like the communication and connection between fans and the board is non-existent and hasn't been for some time. We all understand that sometimes what we feel is best isn't always the case but the comments that come out from Coates and others are usually very toxic towards the fans, some might say actions speak louder such as the free away travel and the freezing of the ticket prices but there's something very cold about how the owners of the club treat the fans who work their guts off to support the team.

The message from the club really does seem to be pipe down, we're unlucky. And I think they believe that.
The board are as a big a problem as the manager, make no mistake about that.

Board, ownership, and club non-team management side of things are all a disaster right now.

I suppose it's bad at Newcastle. But it's seriously bad here and reaks of greed and pure incompetence by the board.

Well we can all look forward with absolute dread to yet another totally frustrating and uninspiring transfer window with this bunch of clowns at the helm.

It is quite clear that our squad is paper thin and we need significant strengthening in the transfer window to help us to survive.

Total and utter incompetence from top to bottom, resulting in total embarrassment for us poor suffering supporters. Hughes talking about mainly loans, newspaper reports of meetings next week to discuss transfers (far too late), comments of bad luck, the chairman saying he can't see what the problem is just make it worse. I really can't see Denise Coates tolerating such incompetence for much longer. We need major surgery and bloody quick. Hughes out now has to be the starting point. Injuries hit every club but most sensible clubs have at least got 25 man squads, who on earth decided we could run with just 20 (plus Ireland) must shoulder a lot of the responsibility.

Can any of us old stokies remember the last time stoke stoke city gave a fuck about us supporters. Oh come on. Prices held for TEN years still free away travel. They’ve given the manager money it’s not there fault he’s pissed it up the wall.

Keeping the manager after the crap we got last year was down to the board, so his ongoing incompetence is basically down to them. The signs were all there, they just weren't heeded.

The poor relationship between the board and the fans is nothing new at Stoke City as those of us over 50 can relate to. All the present problems are self-inflicted by the club. The two things that worry me most are the two comments recently that have been attributed to the chairman, ''I don't know what all the fuss is about'' and more recently, ''We had hoped not to spend any more money this season, after the money we spent in the summer''. Well, if the club really believe those comments then they are at best, sticking their heads in the sand. Most supporters appear to have genuinely believed that the squad was not strong enough, an opinion that is sadly looking a correct analysis. My fear in the January transfer window, regardless of who the manager is, will be that the transfer policy will revolve loans on incoming players, unless an absolute bargain becomes available. To add to that, I think that Jack Butland will be sold to the highest bidder to pay for any incoming players. There are reasons why we have constantly under-achieved in our history, I believe the current predicament we find ourselves in is a case in point.
