If it's a choice between staying up or not, I'll take Pulis. Our defence is shit. He will sort that out. It's not a choice of Pulis or go down though is it? As has been mentioned, there's an entire planet out there, so can people drop this Princess Leia style "Help us Obi Tone, you're our only hope" utter fucking bollocks please!!!!!

Really understand your sentiments but what else can be done? Surely you’re not a Hughes remainer? I hate the pair of them with a passion, but as I’ve just posted in another thread, there’s literally a whole planet full of football managers, this idea that only Pulis can save us is laughable, it’s like a battered woman crawling back to her abusive ex so she can have another kicking. The planet is so big, no one can name a realistic alternative! I despise the thought of the capped one back but he is proven in these scenarios. Only until the end of the season though!

Please please explain why it does not make absolute 100% sense? Because half the team and staff at Stoke won't work with him........we will continue in same direction

Guys read what I am saying for fcuks sake------ SHORT TERM FIX to the end of the season or Championship and a very long hard slog to get back. I never said it would be popular, and it is not what I want either but think about it. Who else has a record of pulling a rabbit out of the bag. Gotta be worth the short term sacrifice for long term gain. Palace, West Ham, Everton, Leicester all getting new Manager bounce. Its what we desperately need but we have missed out on those candidates. They're not reading it - they're seeing the word Pulis and going mental!

Hughes deffo needs to go, but this constant shit of "Bring Pulis back" really pisses me off. Why? Pulis is proven to have saved so many struggling Premier League clubs and has still, especially after the miracle he performed at Crystal Palace, still never been relegated. It's a no brainer to have him back if you ask me.

The capped one is needed fact...get stoke back to stoke nasty horrible players nasty fucking fans were wank as a team and fans now Here is a perfect example of the classic footie-board-poster mistake - the inability to tell fact from ridiculous beer-fuelled opinion. Well done dexta! Text book example!

Stand back a minute here...
Coates is not trigger happy, but he is no mug. Do you really think he has not considered various contingencies over the past six months? I am sure there will be a short-list of potential candidates. Yes TP will be one option, but there are others like Koeman.
It is not a choice between Hughes and Pulis.

Even taking into account this is his perfect scenario a more un Pulis like squad is difficult to imagine.
We don't want Tone and we no longer want Hughes.
I'm sure there are other managers we could employ !

Ok give me the alternatives then? Reassure me it is all going to be ok. Because right we are going down! How do you know people within the club and pulis are on good terms still? How would that dynamic work? Don't forget the shit from earlier in this year when berahino's failed drug test came out. I know who I think let that cat out of the bag. He is not the answer. Just saying name someone else doesn't make him the answer.

Hughes spent lot more money than pulis. 3 0 at home makes me laugh how people Slag pulis off least we never got hammered at home EXACTLY. There was ALWAYS fight. Like the season we were promoted, I was sure we would be relegated. But as long as all the players fought and gave it there all on the pitch, I couldn't expect more from them. I always saw that under Pulis and what he achieved with lower quality players than we have now, and with less money, is still remarkable for me. Pulis in.

We need to pull the trigger on Hughes and we need to do it now. Not many, if any, good candidates out there to replace him with so........ We offer Tony a short term contract to the end of the season to work his magic and get us out of the shit we are very quickly sinking into. He is the only one who I believe could turn this around quickly enough now. We know he loves/does it for the money, so we offer him a bonus of 1 million if he saves us and in the mean time we wait for the right candidate to come along, which inevitably will happen, and offer them employment from the end of the season to build their own squad early. £1 Million to keep us in the Prem is money very well spent compared to how much it will cost us if we go down to the Championship! It is an absolute no brainer right this minute! It won't be pretty, I know that, but he will do us the job we so desperately need right now because I really don't think anybody else is going to have enough time now to turn this around. We really do need to roll the dice. Im not a TP fan by the way and was glad to see the back of him, but desperate times require desperate measures and a short term fix is absolutely vital right now and I truly believe he is the only one that could do the job of turning this around quickly. Yeah...im afraid at times like this, one must think the unthinkable

This squad needs major surgery to stay in this division. Any manager is going to struggle with this rabble. The squad is absolute garbage from top to bottom and yet Peter Coates believes it's the best squad we've had since promotion. Hugely worrying.
