Perhaps Arnie was right in saying that he is leaving for a club with more ambition. Looks like he knew more than us!

Deeply worrying if Coates can't see that we've got the worst squad we've had in a long time and have been on a downward trajectory for the past 18 months.

Remember the Bradford game in 97 on TV when the fans didn't take their seats until 10 minutes in? When are we next on TV? 😎 Yeah, just think where would Bradford be now if they hadn't have done that ?

Arnie didn’t go to West Ham because they were ‘ambitious’ whatever he says.

I'll give you a few reasons pete
N zonzi Arnautovic Whelan Huth Bardsley Bojan Muniesa Walters
If they are still at the club we currently sit mid table, their replacements ( the ones that have been replaced) are counterfits

Surly this is nothing more than the dreaded vote of confidence and we all know what happens next.

This smacks of the classic Vote of Confidence from the Chairman on the eve of a must win game, which is then followed by the sack on Monday morning after a limpness surrender once again to a poorer team.
How many times has the above happened? Me thinks watch this space!

West Ham made 4 signings and their problem is the spend has been too big and they haven't worked.

N zonzi ? left years ago plus wanted European football Arnautovic money grabber Whelan ok Huth long term injury wouldn't have played a single game this season Bardsley ok Bojan see wolves last season Muniesa ok but injury prone Walters long term injury plus legs gone would not have played this season .
shall we go back to Fuller ,delap etc these players left because it was time , the replacements are not good enough i agree but to bring up players from the past is clutching at straws

As soon as I can find a decent replacement I'm going to sack him'?

I think he's just trying to bat off a bit of what he will see as noise and hysteria, whilst publicly backing his under fire manager. I'm guessing he is looking at this weekend and trying everything to calm things down in order to help get a positive result.
As supporters we'll see things the opposite way and there is no problem with that. It's a passionate sport. Fans, regardless of those amongst us that try and say they are calm, will always lose it a bit when teams go through elongated rough patches. It's natural.
What goes on behind closed doors will be very different I think. If we lose on Saturday I dare say we will be looking for a new manager, regardless of what he has said here.

The only way the message is going to get through to the hierarchy is if we vote with our feet and voices, it will NOT look good for the 365 brand if the team they put in all of their campaign has a fan base outraged and vocally unimpressed with the management. Pathetic, I feel like the fans of Blackburn when Steve Kean wouldn't piss off! COATES GET THE MESSAGE! Totally wrong and negative....will only make things worse We are supporters and that’s what we should do.

But I'm leaning to taking those comments at face value and we if go for (say) three on Saturday, then even then he'll still have a job against West Brom. I guess it might come down to the reaction in the stands and the decision might ultinately be taken out of Peter's hands.

The Chairman 'doesn't know what the fuss is about' and is staying the course with Mr. Hughes and the team, as luck would have it Mr. Hughes 'doesn't do relegation', so we should be fine, we can all just kick back and enjoy the remainder of the season, what not to like?

Perhaps more worrying this, than anything else.
There is a complacency at Stoke City right now which is just quite beyond reasonable and if unchecked, will surely lead to our downfall
