Thank God. Wimmer is 4th choice in a group of 4 'proper' CHs. If he doesn't improve soon we could see:
Zouma Ryan Bruno Pieters Cameron
..ahead of him at CH.
I'm hoping its bedding in.

Here's hoping Ryan is back, but it'd be a strange move to drop Wimmer - unless he's unfit or Hughes is planning to play with two CBs. If Wimmer's fit enough to play, then he should play, especially if we're playing with three CBs. He can't do better than having Ryan and Zouma alongside him. And we're facing Bournemouth not Barca.

I just hope they are not pushing Ryan back too soon.

Is there a more important player at Stoke than Shawcross at the moment?

I think we need all hands on deck at the minute these are the games we struggle to get sorted , so hopefully we can get the best players back and get going

Wimmer hasn’t settled in yet, to be fair he hasn’t played a lot of premiership football for a while ( like any player in his situation he will need those opportunities) Last week the defence were under enormous pressure. I agree that a fully fit Ryan would probably have been a positive for the team, not only as the organiser at the centre of defence but as our leader. Some fans have already written Wimmer off- unfair imo

Is this the same Ryan that shows no leadership qualities on the pitch?.. I think it's become obvious that his influence on the defence goes unnoticed.

Wimmer should play as well. It means Geoff can play RWB and Diouff can play as a striker

Arnie is experiencing a terrible time at West Ham, could we make a swap deal with him and Wimmer involved? I really wouldn't mind seeing him back at Stoke and Hughes knows how to handle him.

To be fair mate I was waiting until the 10 league game mark before I make any criticisms or champion any causes but there has been enough games at this point for people to make observations, personally I thought Wolly was OK, he was pretty flat footed at times and had the turning circle of an Atlantic oil tanker when the ball was played over his head but other than the Blackburn debacle I thought he was a pretty average CH who could be pretty much relied on when needed.....and unfortunately from what I have seen so far so is Wimmer, the problem is the price tag, both the same sort of player with the end results but one is up there as close to or even is our record signing. I am trying to hold my silence mate but hopefully the next 3-4 games will give us a better idea of where we are. see you at half time

I just hope if he plays he can manage 90 mins. could be a gamble worst case scenario[so lets hope this doesn't happen]is ryan having to come off after 20 mins that would give Bournemouth a boost and thrust wimmer into an uncomfortable situation. so lets hope we are 3 nil up by then.
