I wouldn't rule it out, it's only a matter of timing I expect most dissenters will abstain or be even bigger hypocrites than they already are. I haven't worked out the numbers but I expect the Bill to pass second reading, if it doesn't a GE is inevitable Then the fun begins in the Lord's and HoC amendments enough to bog it down for at least weeks if not months after the Christmas recess. We could end up with as many "meaningful votes" as we had in Brexit, none of which passed The Bill seeks to rule out a Refugee seeking Judicial Review in UK Courts but I could certainly see if required a Judicial review being brought by some "lefty lawyers" which would present an interesting position if it got to the Supreme Court on Parliamentary Sovereignty It's nailed on that fox killing prick with the stupid name will challenge it. I'd have more respect for him if he treated badgers with equal contempt. How else would he get his Jolly's On

I'm somewhat confused...Sunak tells the inquiry he lost all his whatsapp messages - so why did he spend a fortune of our money trying to get disclosure stopped through the courts? OFGEM fined Morgan Stanley £5.4M for not properly keeping WhatsApp Messages of its employees If only we had a Regulator to Regulate Governments Just saying www.ft.com/content/dc2d3440-4b06-4ae0-be39-bfeeb7836eb1

If, as wannabee says (and he certainly seems to know his stuff), the larger plan is to 'resettle' 2000 illegal immigrants, and being as we've already spent a quarter of a billion up to yet, it's highly probable that the total bill will be at least half a billion quid. That works out at £250,000 for each one deported. Disgraceful. OS. Thanks for compliment but even the Public affairs committee can't get a straight answer from a Civil Servant about how much the Rwanda Scheme is going to cost A slight correction the "Pilot Scheme" on which the money's paid/to be paid/committed is for 1,000 in Total at 200 per year or 100 every six months The Government claim is that the potential number is uncapped, so gawd knows how much that would cost. Sir Matthew Rycroft, a civil servant in the Home Office, wrote a letter to Members of Parliament on Thursday confirming the total payment made to Rwanda in 2023, as part of the Economic Transformation and Integration Fund. Rycroft’s letter said this figure (£100 Million) is in addition to £140 million ($176 million) paid last year, and that a further £50 million ($63 million) would be paid to the African nation in 2024.“I fully recognise the public interest in transparency and accountability (Sic) of public authorities for expenditure and the broad public interest in furthering public understanding of the issues with which public authorities deal,” Rycroft’s letter read. He added that the government will only publish details of these payments annually.time.com/6344094/uk-rwanda-migrant-plan-backlash/So to date £240M has been handed over, a further £50M is committed for next year with a projected intake of 200 Refugees per year over the next 5 years and the Civil Service won't confirm how much has been committed to be paid beyond 2024 but there will be payments for the following 4 years, amount unknown, or whether it's dependent on any Refugees reaching Rwanda or not. Seems like a sweetheart deal .... For Rwanda. Maybe the details have been reported in British MSN but the clearest details come from Time Magazine, go figure.

4 years since Johnson won the election with an 80 seat majority.
Gone tremendously well hasn't it?

He was unfortunate with the timing of Covid though, it's basically brought the country's deep rooted problems to a head. Starmer will have alot of tricky decisions to make during the next parliament. I can see a populist party (i.e Farage's next vehicle) taking advantage of what is sure to be mass discontent.

Our economic model and approach to using it to make life better for ordinary people simply doesn't work. Populists/Libertarians whatever you want to call them will just make things worse because, in effect, it'll be much more extreme versions of the same approach.

An easy sell to a disgruntled electorate though particularly as you have 2 parties offering quite similar policies

'48. Meanwhile Jonathan Gullis, a man so heroically stupid you’d think he’d been bitten by a radioactive idiot, called for Nigel Farage to be home secretary 49. His plan is for a pact between Nigel Farage (who isn’t even an MP) and Boris Johnson (who also isn’t even an MP)' 😂

What he is nevertheless saying is 'we've got 350 mp's andvwe're all so shit we need an outsider to lead us" Great message Jonathan

Strangely, never seen this mentioned in any of the right-wing news outlets... Rwanda kept the right to send any of the 200 back to the UK, so they can stick to international law.
The Rwanda deal also allows more than 200 Rwandans to migrate to the UK, meaning the Tory policy to reduce net migration could actually increase net migration.
I wonder what those in favour of the policy would think if that was made more publicly prominent?

I'm very glad we've introduced prison terms for murder.
That's a deterrent and since then we've had no more murders because that's what matters. A deterrent.

A fantastic speech. Everyone who supports the tories or this legislation should watch that and then say whether or not they still support them and this bill. The tories are ruining our democracy.

I don’t understand why we let any politician tell us what to do and blatantly spend our money on themselves and their cronies.
Look at the state of the plonkers in charge, it won’t be any better if Labour win.
They’re not even human in my eyes.
It’s not a democratic process, there’s no choice apart from the two main parties.
