Indeed. Though probably not for the reasons you're rejoicing. This just highlights how dodgy the whole asylum system is and there's a story the BBC have missed. Payman Holdings 3 are owned by a 28 year old "entreprenuer" Naim Anis Payman listed variously as German/Iranian/Albanian who is as dodgy as fuck. The proposal was to build temporary modular units on the land at Northrop (as bizarrely he doesn't own the rooms) and secure a 7 year deal to house asylum seekers. 7 years is not unusual - Serco, Mitie and others have them - abd you have to ask why the Home Office are handing out 7 year contracts for something they're promising to eliminate in the next year. Answer is they're not. "Illegal immigration' is a gift that keeps on giving. It's a bogeyman, a distraction and a scam that recycles taxpayers money into favoured organisations. The outrage at hotels being given over to asylum seekers is faux. It's a complete scam. Why neither the press nor the opposition seem keen to go after it is beyond me. Fair play to Flintshire council though. |
