Like the Scots they want to be in the EU and like the Scots Spain would veto their application. There is no great support for the EU, and it's just dropped considerably. 'no great support for the EU' There is in Catalonia www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-41493014

There's a lot of people right behind Catlonia independence who we're fundamentally against independence for Scotland. It's almost like they're using a situation where they have absolutely nothing to lose to make themselves look like the great defenders of democracy.

Was Julian Assange really against Scotland being allowed an independence vote? That surprises me, but I have to say as I can't recall his take on it all. (I'm assuming he's one of these 'a lot of people' as it's his comment that has triggered you into saying what you have?)

It's nice to see Farage, the great tough man of British politics, complaining about us being bullied because someone is negotiating - the precious little snowflake. I bet he has a safe space in Brussels.

I think there is more concern over government troops beating the shit out of women and pensioners. And the lack of condemnation for such acts from the loving EU. Sets a very dangerous precedent, as far as I'm concerned. The Scots had their vote on independence. And their independent party has lost support.

The spirit of Franco is alive and well. Do they have an Ecuadorian embassy in Brussels?

Spain going full Franco-era again. .......... and they wonder why huge swathes of the country despise Madrid. Think they'll have to cancel the festival in Valencia next year.....the effigies can get political in quiet times.

It’s all over the front page The front pages are depicting half-a-dozen people. Why not have a picture of the million people who were there? If it had been a 'pro-Spanish Union march' do you think they'd put up pictures of half-a-dozen people, or show the million strong march?
