The Ministry of Defence has welcomed the publication of the independent National Recognition of the Armed Forces study by Quentin Davies MP.
An Armed Forces/Veterans day was one of the recommendations. Forgetting the politics focussing on the servicemen and their familes.//
I say give us this bank holiday monday after remembrance sunday. a nice little winter long weekend

Combine it with St Georges day, the both need recognition on a nationwide scale.

I agree with Remembrance Monday, doing it on St George's Day would be too nationalistic for me.

Would love to combine it with St Georges day unfortunately it's the 'British' Army and we have a lot of Jocks and Taffs, and a fair few bog trotters come to that.
I think it's the lure of elctricity and brick buildings instead of caves
Don't like this talk of us wearing our uniform on days off though, isn't it bad enough being walking trees just to go in to work anyway? I certainly won't be too chuffed If they start asking us to wear kit in our down time !
