My daughter and I have just signed up to do the Race for Life on 10th June; it is a women only 5km race starting at Trentham Gardens in aid of Cancer Research UK. I lost my Mum to cancer when I had just turned 20; I think everyone knows someone who has been affected by the disease. We would like to raise as much money as possible, so if anyone on this board is able to sponsor us please follow the link to go to our sponsorship page, it is a secure Just Giving site, any donations go directly to the charity. Even small amounts would make a difference and I would be pleased to be taking part with the support of fellow Stoke Fans. Hopefully we will be able to meet our current target and raise it some more. PS. I REALLY hate running, so it is going to be a challenge for me! www.raceforlifesponsorme.org/FCstoke(Hope it’s ok to post this, it is a very good cause).

How come us lads don't have anything like this? We do! It's called Run for Moore and was set up to raise awareness and funds to fight bowel cancer - which is the second largest cancer in the UK. It's in memory of the legend that is Bobby Moore and I ran the Bristol event yesterday. It's only 5k (3 miles) so even lardy bastards like me can do it - you can even walk it if you like! It's a great day - it's blokes only but not competitive and you know that you've done a good thing and raised a bob or two along the way You'll find details at www.cancerresearchuk.org/runformoore
